Samsung Continues Anti-Apple Campaign by Bashing iTunes in the Cloud
Samsung continues with its anti-Apple campaign, this time with a new advertising depicting Apple fans still waiting on absurdly long lines for a new iPhone. It isn’t quite clear why a company like Samsung would possibly insult potential future customers but the new Galaxy S II commercial seems to exploit the line waiters theme, which was first seen in last month’s commercial and the company’s Facebook page.
The new commercial focuses on the Galaxy S II’s content and specifically music in the cloud. This became apparent when the Samsung user asks those in the line for the iPhone “You guys are still here?” then proceeds to laugh at them insisting that his Galaxy S II keeps all his content. “I have all my playlists right here, my music streams from the cloud and I have tons of places to buy my music,” he says to his iPhone toting friends who stare at his device looking bewildered.
This was in response to the focus that Apple’s been heavily advertising, such as the iOS 5 software and iCloud/iTunes Match music locker in the cloud. Samsung continues by saying that they are “excited for the opportunity to educate as many consumers as possible about why the Samsung Galaxy S II is the preferred choice for smartphone owners.”
I personally found the first commercial to be funny and even some of the Facebook wall posts but this commercial seems to be a bit redundant. I also feel it is starting to become misleading, with Samsung trying to boast that iOS users are always as crazy as the ones depicted in the picture (waiting 36 hours, come on!). Furthermore, the Apple fans standing on line so they can fit their music in one device also felt a bit unreal. The same features (more or less) are offered on both devices. What are your thoughts? My impression is that every other tech company wishes they had the kind of loyalty that Apple has.

I'm not an apple fanboy. I own one apple product. My ip4. Those commercials are funny to me in more than one way. I'd never wait online for anything like that. Second, I work at a big company, and have friends who use android phones....
First, there is too many, too often to know if you are getting a good one, second... They all feel like cheap plastic toys. Not to mention, alot don't have the good touch response.
Just not for me. The iPhone just looks, feels, uses, betterLast edited by rlowride; 12-11-2011 at 05:57 AM.

make you feel more freedom. Other android phone I don't know,my friend's htc sensation xe a bit lags i think...

I have no problem with their commercials. I think their funny as hell. Just like I thought the ones Apple used to make in the "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" commercials. I am surprised it took this long for someone to copy their approach. There is a ton of truth in those commercials. I have stood in line to get my latest greatest Apple product before and for what to say I had it on opening day. So true.

I, on the contrary, feel enjoyment of using iTunes as my primary tool for music/video "consumption". So this is a matter of opinion, nothing more.
Well i do, and many will. These ads are making fun of the people in the first place, not the manufacturer or product, didn't you notice? And i don't like it.
If i were an apple fan-boy, i'd be offended at the very least. And no, I'm no fan-boy, neither have i ever had to stand in the row waiting. I find such behavior as stupid, as this ad. However i don't make fun of people just for not sharing their "view".
I won't be surprised if this ad will make more people hate Samsung, than make customers. Making fun of potential buyer of your product?... Or does it play on the feelings of Apple-haters? So the will gladly go and buy Samsung's phones just to display "hey, fu, Apple! etc."? Then the Samsung is no better than the Apple in the things, Apple is being bashed for again and again.PRAETORIANNI NONNUMQUAM IN PROELIO NUMQUAM IN BELLO SUPERANTUR

I got rid of my 4S for a Samsung Skyrocket......29 days later, right before my return period was up, I was back on the 4S. The Skyrocket seemed enticing to me, but when I actually took the time to use it I was very disappointed. The screen was large, but the resolution was terrible. The battery life was ridiculous. Apps were continuously crashing that never crashed on the iPhone. It froze on me 4 freaking hours after buying it. The widgets are a big battery hog. The LTE was an even bigger battery hog with no way to turn it off. The front "gorilla glass" had scratches and scuffs that would not come out after sitting in my t-shirt pocket for about an hour with nothing but a small light plastic shirt button tapping against it. The speaker quality was horrible.....both from call quality and music/video audio quality. About the only good thing about it was the LTE speeds which were ridiculously fast......but I'd like to see how that holds up when more and more phones become LTE compatible......especially the next iPhone.
All in all I wasn't impressed either with Android or the Samsung brand. Terrible phone. So I switched back to the iPhone with the quickness after I couldn't take it anymore.Last edited by RICO_; 12-11-2011 at 07:38 AM.

Cult leaders and Dictators wish that they had the kind of loyalty that Apple has
Buying the skyrocket was your first mistake. Why didn't you get the regular GSII? It has a faster GPU & CPU as well as having something like 30% better battery life. There's a reason why it's called the Sh*trocket.
You bought Samsung's WORST current gen phone and have the nerve to turnaround and say that you weren't impressed? Sorry that's 100% your fault.Last edited by NegativeBeef; 12-11-2011 at 08:40 AM.

Seems to me Samsung has chosen to take the low road here. Attacking a companies customers is pathetic, shows how jealous Samsung is of real customer loyalty.

Funny as they may be at times these commercials never really look good on tech companies. You expect this type of marketing from fast food chains & such, but when you get into quality refined products you just assume that things are different. All in all it's just a commercial I suppose, didn't really find Apple's very amusing either, but Apple doesn't seem to complaining nor responding to them at all.
I notice a lot of people upset with people allegiance to Apple or any other company. I think it's more stupid to be upset with the fans than it is to be one. Some people are so quick to take a stand against something pointless its amazing. What does it hurt you if a person is a fan of Apple or Windows etc. Why do you care so much? To me it just makes you look like a punk.

"you brought Samsungs WORST phone" lol
Why can't samsung make just 1 great phone and leave it at that instead of making 10 or 15 so so phones.
Take a leaf out of Apple's book and make 1 great phone that EVERY other manufacturer then spends a year TRYING to better. Because we all know that every new phone immediately gets compared to the current market leader, the iPhone.Last edited by JollyRogger; 12-11-2011 at 09:35 AM.

WOW you do understand at the moment Apple has 3 different Iphones right?
3GS (GSM only)
4
4s
Why can't Apple just make a good phone iOS that works right the first time? No release of an iOS until its ready?
Really its annoying to discuss with such biases at times on MMI

Oooohh, we have a fandroid in the house everybody!
"Worst gen phone?"
It just proves they keep coming out with crappy phones day in and day out. 90+% of android phones out there are pure ****, and they have to justify it with just a hand full of phones, PACKED WITH ONLY HARDWARE. Who gives a **** about the high end hardware? Apple doesn't, because their iOS doesn't need it to turn perfectly, unlike Android who needs 1 GB ram, 1GHZ JUST to run smoothly.
Thanks.
As for these ads, I find them utterly ridiculous. Apple could do the same thing, and bash them 20 times as hard. Like how Samsung rips off Apple's innovative ideas, and showcase everything on one ad and say "Is this what you want from competing companies? Those who cannot even make good products without our help?" Something a long those lines. Or showcase how Android users are frustrated with their 3rd rate OS.
OR maybe, showing how Apple has gotten BEST user satisfaction from J.D power research for many years in a row.
Just some ideas.
(Fandroids who are going to bash me, let me just say my dad has gotten the LG thrill 4G/Droid 2 from work, and personally uses an iPhone. We also have an HP Touchpad, Toshiba Thrive, and several black berries. Android is the worst OS out of all of them. Granted the LG thrill's 3D feature is pretty cool, the battery blows. I prefer even the WebOS more than Android bs.)Last edited by eZStaR; 12-11-2011 at 10:03 AM.

Apple didn't bash PC users, they bashed Microsoft Windows. If you can't tell the difference, than I guess there's not much more I can tell you.
Apple should do what the people want?? Apple is not a government, it's a business out for profits, like any other company out there. The only control you have is having the choice of not buying their products. That goes for any product or service out there.

Then Samsung is not bashing anyone using this logic

Does not change I buy a product and it is and should be in my control. To limit a legal function of a device on purpose after purchase is not moral ( I think the "Fanboy" mentality blinds most to take Apple's side always), don't say I have a choice on that too, I have to take great lengths to keep the older iOS running and then later you cannot use some newer apps either they need the new iOS to run or need it because Apple requires them to to have it in the store..........Apple does what it can to ensure its monopolyApple should do what the people want?? Also I do not nor ever will own an over priced low spec Mac, they are way over priced, limited and I have used windows seven since beta, it never crashes and I have never had a virus on it and I spend 14 hours a day on it and have surfed to virus ridden sites, DL virus ridden software but the free MSSE protected me instantly
Apple is 95% hype as far as PC'sLast edited by MYPHONEI; 12-11-2011 at 10:27 AM.
