People get excited when they think they have found the "iPhone ,iPad or iwhatever killer" but the champ is the champ until you take his belt. Good luck with that. Competition is great for the consumer. We get better products!

It is reported that Android devices outselll iOS devices, and people cry foul and say it's "unfair" because Apple essentially makes so few iOS devices. The kindle fire outsells single models of iPad, and people are crying foul again. What sort of comparison would be acceptable? Next we will be hearing it's an unfair comaprison because the kindle fire is less expensive. Let's say the information is completely wrong and it hasn't outsold a thing. WHY IS THAT ACTUALLY A PROBLEM? Best Buy clearly loves Apple as is shown through many of their commercials, and of course the fact that there are mini Apple stores in most Best Buy locations. The kindle fire is selling well. GET OVER IT PEOPLE!
They aren't even catering to the same group of people. The kindle is catering to all of the people that thought an iPad is too expensive for what it does (I am one of those people). I would likely have purchased one of these had I not had a touchpad running CM7 for less, due to the recent fire sale. (and yes, I ahve used an iPad plenty of times; my fiance has one)Last edited by sziklassy; 12-01-2011 at 01:12 AM.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Why all the hostility??
Again, I don't understand how/from where you are inferring an emotional reaction or product preference from the original post- there isn't one. He simply said their conclusion, based on their source of data, was flawed. It is. The problem the author has is with posting of a conclusion as a headline to another article that was not founded from any empirically gathered data.
The only emotion being displayed here or product bias, seems to be from the responses from readers. Perhaps 'you' should 'get over it' and just calm down. I assure you, that the marketing decisions of Best Buy are not rooted in any emotional preferences of it's CEO's- it's good business to talk up a product you want to sell, especially if it has a high profit margin.

Its good that there is competition out there and for a far lighter budget.

You have expensive impulses.
Pretty much: what would I take to read at the beach, my expensive iPad to (and have trouble with the screen) or would I take my half-priced Kindle? Twice as many Hyundai Sonatas are sold as are BMW 3-series. Does that make the Sonata 'better'? Or just more affordable for working-class commuters?Last edited by quidam_brujah; 12-02-2011 at 11:49 PM.
