iTether might make its way into Cydia. I think releasing it into the App Store was just to prove a point and to make some good money at $15 per pop.

Why are you guys bent over missing out on this app? Like I said there really is no difference between this app and others on cydia.
If your carrier does not approve of tethering than you will compromise your data package for sure.
Does it mention that you can tether? If we are to read in between the lines with that point of view than you can only imagine what people will try to get away with.
To add: your unlimited is tied down to your device, once you tether you are now providing internet to other devises. Seriously, I started a tread here somewhere, I think first thread when I got my ATT message and email and letter. I was fuming over it but I get it now from business point of view. Once you make your device a hot spot any one with your permission (or with out if not secured) can tap into "data plan tied to your device ""ONLY"")Last edited by hadzo; 11-29-2011 at 12:21 PM. I was so hesitant to buy it last night but as soon as I saw the 3rd or 4th post that it worked I was soo quick to click buy it now. Especially since the 3gs will be going buy buy since I have the 4s and there is no JB for it.
Thanks MMI!

Can anyone confirm if the handy light pro app works for tethering? I have a 4S and would like to use it once in a while. Also for those that got their unlimited plans yanked due to tethering, were you over doing it and going past 4gb. Reason I ask is because I have unlimited and tethered often with MyWi and did not get a notice.

Although I haven't had it yanked I did received all 3 warning, first text, than email followed by an actual letter in the mail. My typical monthly data usage was any where in between 2.5-8GB. I don't think that that is the issue with the carriers. The amount of data u dumb isn't a question but rather how you dump it. Say you tether for 10-20 min surfing the web, reading email and such would not get you red flagged because you are not straining the network but start streaming Netflix or some other streaming service and everything changes. While streaming you are dumping lots of data and fast thus putting strain on the network.
As I mentioned above, when it first happened to me I was pissed, but now I see their position on the matter.

From what I understand, the HandyLightPro name was bought after it was last pulled for the tethering part of it. It was re-introduced into the app store by the new owner who tries to gives the impression that it tethers by saying "does everything and more than the original Handylightpro" But everyone says it no longer works. I bet that guy is making a ton off of that app just for a light you can get free.
