Ok, first off, I don't think Flash made that much of a difference to Android.Android and iOS are both equally good and capable systems, it will all come down to price more than anything else. That being said, just because Adobe is no longer making a mobile flash player doesn't mean that someone else can't.

Well...
Well, it would be like running Gnome (A Linux GUI) on OSX.
Android is a Linux platform, iOS is a mac platform. The software for one OS is incompatible with one another for reasons that get right down into the binary level, and some that are just how we define functions as well as the architecture of Android devices vs iOS.

flash is being replaced with adobe air so calm down, android's market share will continue to grow.
Simple., if you dont want flash just use another browser. Opera mini and firefox are great browsers and neither support flash.
Wrong, Adobe is replacing Flash with AIR. And Android supports both.
don't see the big fuss? you're not very honest are you?
I'll tell you why I Chose Android.
I wanted a dual core processor (6 MOTHS AGO !!! which is the minimum time Android phones have had this)
I wanted USB, micro HDMI and micro SD slots
I wanted wireless sync capabilities
I wanted 1080p video recording and play back (more than 6 months old on Android devices)
I wanted an 8MP camera (more than 6 months old on Android devices)
I wanted 5.1 surround sound
I wanted a screen larger than 3.5"
I wanted Widgets
I wanted to be able to install any app that I WANT, and not be limited to what apple said I could have.
I wanted to be able to add content to my device WITHOUT the limitations and problems of iTunes
I wanted a Super Amoled Plus display which is superior to Retina display.
I wanted pictures in my Address book
I wanted the ability to choose which apps would be my default app (mail, browser, SMS etc etc)
I wanted themes and other tweaks without having to jailbreak and render my OS unstable, laggy and full of bugs.
I wanted the ability to decide which Software version I could run on my device and downgrade if I changed my mind.
I wanted support for USB devices (keyboards, mice and game controllers) on my tablet.
I wanted a wide variety of handsets to choose from and not be stuck with just one style cause one size DON'T fit all
I wanted a wide variety of tablet sizes to choose from (Samsung has tablets in 5.3", 7.0", 7.7", 8.9" & 10.1")
I wanted a full Gig of RAM
I wanted higher than 0.7MP rear camera on my tablet
I wanted a 16:9 rectangular screen on my tablet and NOT a 4:3 square screen
so that's the big fuss about Android and why its more desirable than iOS (as market shares world wide clearly reflect)Last edited by jOnGarrett; 11-09-2011 at 08:00 PM.

Totally agree wih this guys...i already sold my ipad 1 and buy new asus transformer...very satisfied with this tablet.the reason i choose android is like this guys says,1gb ram, widget on homescreen(without jailbreaking) and minimum of crash to compare with ipad 1 either on ipad 2..ipad 1 cannot even compare to my phone htc wildfire that have 384mb of ram..this is my last post on modmyi(maybe) because i no longer using ios devices...haha..pathetic ipad small ram.

Um FALSE, Steve Jobs hated flash so he created G4Y QuickTime, which is why flash never came to the iphone while Steve was there to say something
So it's almost refreshing that they get to update their products with flash now
I'm not saying I'm glad he's dead just that his idea about flash gets to die with himLast edited by BenderRodriguez; 11-10-2011 at 11:03 AM.

Considering how well the iPad is doing compared to Android tablets, I disagree with you there. There are many who buy into the Apple ecosystem, so they have Macs that are fully compatible with the devices. That means there's no need for micro USB and all of that third party paraphernalia you just listed. Those are just excuses for one to say that the iPhone has less features – when it's really packed with more than meets the eye. Everything's solid and packed into a super small device which is what demand is asking for. This is why iOS is selling large amounts of tablets and smartphones (including iPod). No single Android device has ever outsold one of Apple's. Android is a collection of hundreds, (thousands?) of devices which it took to compete against Apple's 3-device lineup. So if iOS is doing this well, I'd say it's in pretty high demand if 3 devices are beating all couple-hundred or thousand of Android's. In case you didn't know – iOS devices all have support for keyboards. They have bluetooth.. you know.

The iPad has sold more than all Android Tablets combined and but in just one year has lost nearly 30% of its market share. when the Kindle Fire is released, expect the iPad market share to drop considerably. when the iPhone was released, it was king of the hill. a year later Android was released and today Android's market share is nearly double that of iOS.
Things take time, its not going to happen over night and iOS has more than 3 devices. there are 5 phones, 2 tablets and what...like 6 iPod touch.
Its funny how apple fans try to say that having a multitude of android devices to choose from is a weakness., choice is one of the things that makes Android far more popular than iOS. how many more iPads do you think apple would sell if they offered several different sizes to choose from like Samsung? please don't sit there and tell me that you wouldn't be interested (very interested) in a 5.23", 7.0", 7.7" 8.9" & 10.1" iPads. a 7.0" iPad would compete directly with the kindle fire and nook color and apple's sales of a 7.0" tablet would go through the roof.
as for no single Android device outselling any single Apple device. let me ask you this. which would sell more. an iPone running Android or an Android phone running iOS? answer honestly.| Desktop: Windows 7 | Phone: iPhone 4 & Galaxy S II | Tablet: Galaxy Tab 10.1 |

The beauty of the iPhone is the wonderful case, contents, and its beautiful operating system. If Android had anything to do with it at all, or the phone was as ugly as most smartphones on the market - I wouldn't own one.
With the Kindle Fire coming out, sure people will buy it, but the newest iPad is right around the corner - it will have better specs and eat the market right back up. I for-see this happening, it has happened in the past with the iPad 2. Competitors tried outselling the iPad; they started actually gaining numbers. Not a ton, but they were gaining. Then the iPad 2 came out and re-cannibalized the market. So time will tell and as history repeats itself, never underestimate Apple.

I didn't understand your answer to my question. but anyway, you said something about ugly phones? are you serious? is that what you want in a phone? something that's pretty?
as far as the numbers go., explain to me what happened to the smartphone market share that apple had before Android and the market share they have now? explain to me the market share of Mac OS vs Windows? if history repeats itself., 2 years from now your ipad.X will be down to around 20-30% market share. to loose 30% of market share in one year clearly shows the Strength Android has. iPad/iPad2 and iPhone 4S sales are made up mostly of fan boys wanting the latest gadget. apple isn't experiencing any growth in Market Share while Android continually grows each Qtr.| Desktop: Windows 7 | Phone: iPhone 4 & Galaxy S II | Tablet: Galaxy Tab 10.1 |

You're comparing Apple's DEVICES to Android's operating system. Don't you think it's kind of pathetic that it takes hundreds of Android devices combined to be in the same ballpark as Apple's 6 iOS devices currently sold? That doesn't say anything about the quality of Android, it's just math and numbers. Obviously hundreds of devices combined will outsell just a few. This is still planet Earth here. Sales doesn't equate to quality either. There are TONS of cheap people out there who want cheap smartphones. Android is their answer. Apple doesn't ship junk.
