iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 Released

iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 was released not too long ago...

Today Apple pushed out the iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 build to developers. It can be downloaded on the developer page on Apple's website. Anyone who has iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 can update to iOS 5 Beta 2 over the air (or download it from an internet connection from the device itself without iTunes). iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 brings stability and security improvements from iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1. It doesn't have any new features or anything important that needs to be highlighted. The new build of iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 is (9A404) which differs slightly from iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1; (9A402). iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 brought us a couple of fixes in iPad 2 security and iPhone 4S battery life.

iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 can still be jailbroken using the latest Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 that we reported on yesterday. The jailbreak is still tethered and can become Semi-Tethered if you opt to install the Semi-Tether package from the BigBoss Semi-Tether repo in Cydia.

If we find anything new in the update, we'll keep you posted.

They better fix the sound problem. i0S 5 has unbearable sound quality on my iPod touch 4g. Its not my headphones, because theyre Solo beats by dre. Has something to do with the equalizer

The point here is that releasing a jailbreak that exploits NEW vulnerabilities for a BETA software is stupid. You release it when the firmware goes live. FAR more people are able to enjoy it then.

would you really want to waste an untether on a beta? so when the final version comes out.. its get patched... so you would rather use a beta? i don't get it... that has to be one of the most uneducated responses ever....

It defined what over the air means. Someone may not know what OTA is. Simply telling them it stands for Over The Air may not be enough, hence all bases were covered. Let's say the article was redundant in that one sentence. Does it really matter? Apparently it does to some folk, though I can;t quite understand why.

Have the DEV team EVER release a jailbreak for BETA iOS? Your underestimating the intelligence of the DEV team by even stating this. Although people are dieing to jailbreak their device I'm sure they want it on a non-BETA iOS. I see now why you have over 3K post...posting without thinking...
