The Exchange account version is still not that great. Sure it pushes instantly but any exchange account uses more battery. It always has. If Apple would just add IMAP Idle then we could get Push but its Apple...
The contacts feature I stay away from since Google can't keep your contact pictures full size when it syncs them. It lowers the quality down to like 100x100 which is small and then syncs those tiny pics back. When somebody calls it won't be a full screen pic anymore.

I'm getting a notification error when opening it for the first time. Notifications do not work for me.. Bummer

Seems to have been removed.
Google unleashed a new Gmail app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users Wednesday, but it pulled it within a few hours after consumer backlash.
"The iOS app we launched today contained a bug with notifications," the company posted on its Gmail's Twitter account. "We have pulled the app to fix the problem. Sorry we messed up."
