Next Round of iPhone 4S International Roll Out Scheduled for November 11th
In the U.S., the iPhone 4S is already off to the best-selling start of any new iPhone release. During the device's first week of availability (in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K., France, Germany, Japan), more than four million units were sold. Just last Friday, another 22 nations were added to the list of iPhone 4S-carrying markets. And we can now confirm that the international roll out will take another step forward next week.
Beginning next Friday, Nov. 11, the iPhone 4s will call home to Hong Kong, South Korea and more than a dozen other countries (Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania and South Korea.) For the time being, the iPhone 4S is available in 29 countries. Apple pledges to have the iPhone 4s in 70 countries before 2011 winds to a close.
For residents of Hong Kong, South Korea and the other nations outlined above, pre-orders will commence this Friday, Nov. 4th. However, Apple announced on its website today that pre-orders are not available in Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama.
Similar to the iPhone-mania that has swept the globe where the device is presently available, the new countries to receive the iPhone 4S are widely expected to quickly sell-out of the device shortly after its market introduction next week.
During the company's most recent earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said he believes the current quarter will ultimately show all-time record iPhone sales.
