Control Siri From Across the Room With Iris 9000

No doubt an homage to HAL 9000, Iris 9000 turns Siri on the 4S to a true whole-room voice control module.
The ominous looking dock—complete with a Hal 9000 red-eye—utilizes a remote that allows owners to activate Siri from across the room. The dock's built-in microphone can pick up commands from up to 50 feet away, and amplifies Siri's responses via the built in speakers.
The dock, available at ThinkGeek, can make and receive phone calls as well. Perhaps the coolest effect is the glowing LED that flickers with Siri's responses. Jailbreak community, I'm looking to you to create Hal 9000's soft-spoken yet absolutely terrifying voice as tweak for Siri. With that, the Iris 9000 would be complete.
The Iris 9000 will be available in Spring 2012 for $59.99. Until then watch the video below and keep the pod bay doors closed.

Ha, it is a bit slow, but that's something you should take up with ThinkGeek.

That video was made in that way like a video game, when somebody is trapped in one room try to figure out how he can get out of there, and he found something that maybe can help him. All you got to do is, use your imagination.

Love this video. I want that.
This is maybe a prototype, Im pretty sure they are going to come with something cosmetically better.Last edited by javiert30; 10-25-2011 at 09:34 AM.

Douglas Rain (voice of Hal) is still alive! I can't believe that the makers of Iris havent approached him to lay down some audio track for this device. Granted he is over 80 years old but an old gruff HAL is better than none!

Iris is Siri ported to android... Iris 9000 is Siri controlled across the room. The iris on android works but gives you WAY more smart aleck remarks. Lol

Thats a nice comparison, I used siri quite a number of times, but most of the times I faced the problems of the dialect recognition problem. My question was often turned into something funny. But still that was an amazing experience over all. And i would like to try out the new iris this time. I hope it works well for me.
