iPhone Dev Team Releases RedSn0w 0.9.9b7

After receiving feedback from jailbreakers on Reddit, the iPhone Dev Team has released an updated version of RedSn0w (version 0.9.9b7) which allows for a quicker jailbreak. By giving the option of no longer “stashing” applications by default during the RedSn0w run, the Dev Team has managed to reduce the time it takes to perform the jailbreak from 210 second to 80 seconds.
Although the time might be reduced at the time of the initial jailbreak, much of that time will be made up for the first time you launch Cydia, as Cydia will then want to stash the applications. The main feature provided here seems to be the option of whether you want RedSn0w to stash the applications or whether you want Cydia to, in the Preferences pane.
On a quick side note, the Windows version of RedSn0w 9.9.9b7 still does not support custom IPSWs.
You can read the official update notes posted by the Dev Team below:
You can download RedSn0w 0.9.9b7 by clicking the appropriate link below:Update #15: After some feedback on reddit, we’ve decided to make the initial jailbreak as quick as possible by no longer “stashing” the applications by default during the redsn0w run. This reduces the time to actually perform the jailbreak from 210 seconds to 80 seconds (60 percent!). However, you make up for much of that the first time you launch Cydia, which will then want to stash the applications. You can choose whether you want redsn0w or Cydia to stash in the Preferences pane.
For those of you who are eagerly waiting for an untethered jailbreak to be released, you will have to continue to be patient.

So no other fixes? One bar for service? International keyboard crash?

Yay, so now we can choose whether Redsnow or Cydia moves the applications... We were all waiting for this!
Why does the untethered jailbreak take so long? All devs are claiming everything's ready, but when will it be released?

if they r smart they should hold of on releasing the untethered jailbreak, right now people are reporting on all kind of bugs on 5.0 firmware so you know that soon Apple will release an upgrade like 5.1, That's when the untethered jailbreak should come out not before.

Untethered JB Rules!
Does Apple realize how many people are holding off (me included) upgrade to 4S until untethered jailbreak is released? Why don't they just K.I.S.S. butt?

PM me Ill help you BUT try this first.
21. backup
2. Put phone in DFU then restore to ios 4.x clean update.
3. DO NOT RESTORE BACKUP!
4. update to ios 5
4. PLUG PHONE IN, power off, DFU, Jailbreak
5. Restore
I had to restore my 3gs old bootrom to like a new phone on ios 4.3 then upgrade to ios 5 then jailbreak

I got rid of iCloud cos felt crapple were spying on me, did this in readiness for untethered when it comes out, anyway, it deletes all your contacts so beware.
While I'm posting can someone steer me to what I should and shouldn't do to settings before jaiilbreak, or am I being paranoid.

Really? THAT'S what they've been focusing on, the time it takes to jailbreak? I wouldn't care if it took 5 minutes as long as it was untethered
