Jailbreak iOS 5 GM with Latest Sn0wbreeze

With the release of the iOS 5 GM, jailbreak users out there are eager to see if they can jailbreak their devices on this new firmware. ModMyi recently reported that the latest redsn0w is able to jailbreak the GM - now sn0wbreeze is in the same boat. iH8sn0w (@iH8sn0w) just released sn0wbreeze v2.8b8 to jailbreak the iOS 5 GM.

Note: This jailbreak is still tethered. Also, you're not able to jailbreak the iPad 2 on the iOS 5 GM with this version of sn0wbreeze.

I'm not positive on that - if you need to preserve baseband (obviously), I would assume yes. But I can clarify with iH8sn0w.

Yes, it doesn't upgrades your BaseBand, so you are good to go. I'm on iOS 5 GM, with a Gevey sim and BB preserved on 04.10. But every time I tried to boot tethered the gevey SIM magic wouldn't work, just when I booted without iBooty.

ibooty is in snowbreeze. As soon as you use it once to make a custom firmware snowbreeze will put ibooty on your desktop.

can anyone that updated to ios5 GM change the language setting to Chiense (traditional). I tried it on my iphone 3GS (old bootrom), using sn0wbreeze. It make the phone went to infinite loop, even reboot the phone. I have no choice but restore again.

After having it sitting for 30mins+, it is okay now. But when I click on the keyboard/regional language(under setting) it crashed back to Home screen. Seem like glitch in language setting.
