As I have explained many, many times before, the iPod has two X 32gb drives. The iPhone has 1 X 32Gb drive with the other space taken up by the phone chips.

There is no 64Gb drive (the Toshiba one could not be produced reliably in any quantity) and there is not room for two 32Gb drives in an iPhone.

Unless there is a 64Gb drive that I have not heard of or they can make more room inthe iPhone ( a lrger device might allow for this - but I certainly don't want a larger device) then a 64Gb iPhone is a physical impossability.

Cos you know the exact dimensions of all the components inside a yet to be released device?
Components get smaller, get integrated, get redundant. A year is a very long time to still be sure you can't fit 2 32GB chips inside an iPhone.

The size of the major components are well known, as I said, it is possible (although for reasons I have explained, I believe unlikely) the iPhone 5 could be bigger as I said in my previous post.

We shall find out soon enough who's right and who's wrong when Tim Cook unveils the new iPhone. If they actually do release a 64GB iPhone model, can I punch you in the face? (joking of course)

Well let's see, it's been 2 generations of the iPhone that apple hasn't offered it in 64GB. I don't see why apple wouldn't offer it in 64GB, it would make more sense. Sure, I'm quite confident that Apple won't fail me :P

First off, both iPod touch and iPad(2) are offered at 64GB at most. Having said that, it would be logical that Apple would offer the new iPhone in 64GB flavor. I myself have a 32GB iPhone 4 and yet that's not enough storage for me as I tend to sync everything I have from iTunes on my computer. I have about 3.2GB left on my iPhone 4 right now and I wish I had more as I download a lot of apps, music, videos, & photos. The app store and iTunes is continuously increasing in apps and music hence the extra storage would quite essential for someone to take everything with them on the go. Shall I explain more to you? Do you need more convincing?

If you look at the tear downs iFixit has done for the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch you can see that the space the second 32GB chip in the iPod is taken up by the baseband chip in the iPhone and there is literally no other space to put it so unless the phone gets bigger or they have made a single 64GB chip it really is not possible.

Look man, unless you've seen how big the next iPhone model is going to be don't assume that a 64GB model won't be possible, Apple always finds a way to achieve it.

Four possible explanations
1) The phone is bigger and allows for more room inside so 2 X32Gb storage and phone chips
2) There are smaller chips that I don't know about that fit in the same size phone
3) Someone has managed to produce 64Gb storage in sufficient quantity and quality (in which case expect a 128Gb iPod Touch)
4) The pic is a fake.
