Canadian Carrier Telus Slashes iPhone 4 Price to $99

Canadian Carrier Telus is the first carrier to slash the price of the iPhone 4 to CAD$99 ahead of the iPhone 5 launch.
Users signing a 3-year plan (and I though two years was bad) with telus will see the price of the iPhone 4 drop from CAD$159.95 to CAD$99, but the offer is only available until September 7th. The end date to this deal seems a little odd considering the latest reports peg the iPhone 5 launch date on October 7th, with pre-orders starting September 28th or 29th.
Other reports are claiming that Best Buy could be offering the iPhone 3GS for free with a two-year plan starting August 22nd in conjunction with a major promotion leading up to the new iPhone's launch.
This is only the beginning to what is likely going to be a very long month of waiting and retail and carrier specials.

for those who arent from canada, telus is pretty shitty. and 50 dollars gets u nothing. caller id, 100 minutes, unlimited txt, and 500 mb of data, very minimal, but whatever, this is good i guess lol

3 years is too long to be locked into a contract. Period.

i signed up with Mobilicity and got a $25 unlimited plan including data. I tether my iPhone 4 to it lol! $50 is a rip-off.
60% of the time, it works every time.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

You can't buy a subsidized iPhone from the Big 3 (Rogers, Bell and Telus) without a 3 year contract. They are all in Cahoots with no competition, offering the same plans at the same price point.
