MN is at Defcon - I don't think anyone else is brave enough to try....

with each update I've been forced to primarily update iTunes then back up and sync.
then restore to new ipsw then restore from back up.
else i can't back up or i get an error

That's because it's still Beta...

Stop telling people you have to erase first!!! That is just not true. All legit iOS users with a developer license can update via the software update option on the iDevice.

Not sure what your problem is - but I had to delete before the update showed.

Im back on 4.3.5 and I cannot update to iOS5 B5. I was on iOS5 b4 and I crashed during update. The best I can get back to is iOS4.3.5 via another computer, but I cannot upgrade from that computer and I cannot upgrade from the original computer with the latest iTunes. Any ideas?

If you are a dev and have a dev account then the apple developer forums may be a better place to ask for support with issues with a beta. Especially considering the whole NDA thing

That being said more info then "it crashed" may help us help you better. Error numbers etc.

Indeed. JHoffy, I apologize for coming off as curt (the post was not directed at you, or any other non-quoted poster), but provide us with some more information--help us help you.
Xcode device logs/console output is something else you may want to send our way if it's relevant.
EDIT @ Karl: You can try (if you're willing to risk getting hung up somewhere in the process, such is the risk of beta software) using TinyUmbrella's TSS server to stop the iPhone 4 baseband upgrade (ONLY FOR iPHONE 4) and then running Fix Recovery to try and bypass the resulting recovery loop. Only problems are, I don't believe TU has been updated for the 5.0 betas, and of course, there could be all kinds of problems with that baseband on that firmware (plus Ultrasn0w probably will NOT work on 5.0 as-is).Last edited by Orby; 08-07-2011 at 12:17 AM.
