Apple Surges Past Nokia in Route to Becoming Globe's Top Smartphone Maker

If you're starting to tire of Apple's ever-increasing list of accomplishments, you're not alone. But the facts remain that Apple's unprecedented growth continues and the headlines keep coming. The latest of which presents Apple as the new king of the global smartphone landscape.
As of reports published this morning, Apple has formally surpassed Nokia (all while keeping Samsung on the back-burner) to reach the lofty perch cited as the world's "no. 1" smartphone maker with regard to volume sold. Analysts widely concur that the feat is remarkable given that Apple's smartphone empire is all but four years old.
Ahead of today's reports, many had expected Samsung to beat out both Apple and Nokia to claim the paramount posturing among competing smartphone makers. But, alas, the Cupertino, California-based tech giant took home the golden sticker for yet another category in which the iPhone now dominates.
Needless to say, Wall Street and mobile industry analysts have reached all but complete consensus that Apple's market share will continue grow - possibly rapidly - into the close of 2011 as the world at large eagerly anticipates the release of the iPhone 5 in mid-September.

Swanson posted this 8 days ago also claiming that Apple was already #1 in revenue, profits, and volume shipped. But it must give you a raging erection just to post it again eh?
Apple Surpasses Nokia as the World's Number One Smartphone Maker
And stop saying "Cupertino, California-based tech giant". We are all more than well aware where Apple is located and their status in the industry. "Apple" will suffice. If not, please refer to Microsoft as the "Redmond, Washington-based tech giant."Last edited by RICO_; 07-29-2011 at 11:33 AM.

But that would be blasphemy. And potentially hurt his ego.
Sorry, but Aluminum unibody edges aren't "Technological Advances". They're good in knowing (or manipulating) what the average consumer wants, but nothing like that. Only thing saving them from having any discrepancies between new products and large sales is that they have billions of dollars saved up to fall back on, and the fact that there are people who say that they will buy ANYTHING Apple.Last edited by alien mars18; 07-29-2011 at 12:26 PM.

Funny you mention over-priced gross revenue products that are continuously brought to Apple retail stores for repair and technological advances that are implemented from patent features taken from...guess who.....NOKIA (among other companies) that Apple pays them for.

But of course that's the stuff you'll never see or hear about on this site.
