As for walking into a best buy and asking for a gaming console. Yeah, you wouldn't find the iPhone or iPad there.. but what? because its not clearly defines as a gaming console its not? I can slide to unlock and press the APPS.. and I have more games then any best buy, Walmart, Game shop.. you name.. times are changing not everyone wants to carry around a PSP or 3DS or w/e. Why would you when can carry an iPod, Phone, gaming, email, web browsing you name it, basically a mini computer in your pocket.
ps. read what I wrote.. "Regardless if Apple is the Direct cause or indirect cause, I'm willing to bet big time that Apple destroying the market."
Don't twist my words.

But you are right....times are definitely changing and the ability of the iPad and iPhone to do multiple things is what has propelled them to more popularity than classic portable gaming-only systems. People like flexibility and devices that can handle multiple tasks and purposes at the same time....but an iPhone just isn't a true gaming system and I remain firm on that opinion. When people buy an iPad....they're not doing it for its gaming ability only. They are doing it because of its other more useful business applications as well as portable Internet functionality. Very few people if any will spend $500+ dollars on an iPad for their kid who only wants something that plays games when they can easily get a DS or PSP for much cheaper and be just as happy.
