Oh dear, I pointed to iOS 4.3.4 as mentioned and it worked to jailbreak and recognized. Thanks for the information.
But it caused more problems - with "Cydia" app being as a White icon and crashes each time I launch it. Not only Cydia does not work, my Safari also crashes. So basically stuck with this.

I have done jailbreaks in past without issues and this one has caught me badly.

It's a tethered JB - run RS again and 'just boot tethered.

Thanks a bunch....this saved me. This link helped me - when Cydia is a White Icon(crashes) and/or Safari does not work(crashes) -
Guide How to fix white Cydia icon and Safari crashing after 4.2.1 jailbreak
    Same thing applies for 4.3.5.
First off, the IPSW for 4.3.5 does not work. So I was asked to use 4.3.4 for my iPhone3GS. But after this Cydia and Safari crashed to work. Followed the steps in the link and now I can run both Cydia and Safari.

So as I understand this is jailbreak is tethered and not a full JB as before.
    Thanks everyone for the help.

That's because it's a tethered jailbreak. To fix this you must run redsnow again but this time hit the option to just boot tethered. If you had an older bootrom you wouldn't have to do this, but seeing as it's a 3GS with a new bootrom you must boot tethered. Hope this helps

There are lots of forums and blogs out there, most provide inaccurate or incomplete information and I would advise against visiting them.
But, either way, posting links to other forums is bad manners at best.

I'm new to the iPad, fortunately, i was able to jailbreak 4.3.5 tethered but now my question is, will I be able to make it untethered any time soon?

  13. #33
    Very unlikely.

    Old is better.

But as Applevare still signing 4.1 why not just downgrade to that?
