Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 4 With redsn0w 0.9.8b4

DISCLAIMER: The release of redsn0w 0.9.8b4 is intended for developers only. Use at your own risk and understand the consequences, risks, and actions that my happen as a result of using this release.
With another iOS 5 beta released yesterday, the jailbreak community anxiously waited to see if the iPhone Dev-Team was going to release an update for redsn0w. It was determined that the previous redsn0w version would not jailbreak iOS 5 beta 4, putting a halt to all those who wanted to keep their jailbreak upon upgrade.
MuscleNerd (@MuscleNerd) once again made a proclamation on Twitter saying that redsn0w had been updated to support iOS 5 beta 4.
Just a few warnings to remember once again:
- This is a TETHERED jailbreak so be wary
- The intention of this redsn0w release is for developer use only - use at your own risk
The following links give you redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Mac and Windows:
redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Mac
redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows
Note: redsn0w does not support an iPad 2 jailbreak for iOS 5.

Why do you assume that?

I don't think anybody can complain, the dev team has been very fast with these jailbreaks. One after the other.

It's one JB.
All it takes is a genius to update it.
Luckily MN is a genius and very, very good.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

For some reason I think apple is going to throw a big left hook on the final release. Just a gut feeling... Although our devs always triumph, granted it might require patience but they always get the job done.

They already have thrown a big left hook.
No more downgrading once the official release is offered to the public. If you want to continue downgrading using your shsh blobs, you will have to stay on iOS 4.3.3 or lower.

You might want to read up a lil bit. It's not untrue if I am able to read it for myself. I consider Redmond Pie to be a pretty reliable source when it comes to guides.
Jailbreak iOS 5 Untethered On iPhone 3GS (Old Bootrom) WIth Sn0wbreeze 2.8 | Redmond Pie
Here is another guide stating that it can be done untethered if you have the old bootrom. I'm starting to see a pattern.
Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 3 Untethered On iPhone 3GS Using Sn0wbreeze 2.8b4 [Download]
It would stand to reason that if the jailbreak was untethered for the first 3 betas (only with old bootrom) then most likely it would work for beta 4.
Not OTA but manually installed through itunes.Last edited by ihappy; 07-24-2011 at 08:18 AM.

This thread is about RedSn0wwhich is tethered.
If you consider redmondpie to be reliable then more fool you.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
