Google+ iOS App Available Now

The official Google+ iOS app has been made available on the AppStore today. Becoming one of the fastest growing social networks in history, Google was quick to implement mobile applications to ensure capabilities from all devices.

It is exciting to see that this application is finally available after much anticipation. Android users had an application from the start but other users had the mobile web version only (which lacked many features). But what we found most alarming was - there's no support for the iPad or iPod touch. It is unclear why they would leave the two devices out right off the bat. It's understandable if Google is deciding to make a separate Google+ application just for the iPad. Regardless, it's seemingly odd that they would leave out two staple iOS devices from their first release. Below are the current features that the Google+ iOS application has to offer:

Circles
Share things with just the right people.

Stream
Everything you've shared and everything that's shared with you (Even stuff nearby!)

Huddle
Super-fast group messaging for everyone in your circles. No more mass texts!

UPDATED: For those running the iOS 5 beta, it is likely you will not be able to view your Stream using the Google+ application (confirmed by myself and others). After tapping the Stream Button, it promptly crashes the application.

It wasnt coming up for me either. All I did was go to modmyi.com through safari on my phone and click the itunes store link Josh posted. Took me straight to it.

Otherwise, cool app and I can't wait to switch to this from facebook but without invites you can't do much with the app.

Hopefully this doesn't go away like Google Wave. I personally think Google Wave is the best thing since sliced bread.

You do. But its very buggy. When I receive them with the app no running in the background, I have to click "view" on the notification but then it shows that I have no huddles. So I have to close the app completely and reopen it just to see the message. But I just updated the app through the app store so maybe this will fix the problem

Thanks for the post...I've been waiting for this app for a good while now. i tried to get into the beta testing but I was a little late on that. I'm guessing Google will be giving Facebook a run for their money.
