iPhone Top-Selling Device at AT&T and Verizon
BTIG Research has conducted a three-weel survey spanning 250 AT&T and Verizon stores and have concluded that the iPhone is the top selling phone at both companies. During the research, they asked all the respective stores what their top selling phone is. Their results are the following:
51% of the Verizon stores surveyed said that the iPhone was the top seller while 38% stated that the iPhone was tied with Android (mostly Samsung Droid Charge and HTC Thunderbolt).
At AT&T, 65% said iPhone was their number one seller and only 31% said Android. AT&T is in a little different situation as it has had the iPhone 4 for nearly a year while Verizon has only had it for about 5 months.
So in conclusion, 58% of both companies (AT&T and Verizon) stated that the iPhone was number one while only 20% said the iPhone was tied with Android.
A handful of stores at AT&T oddly enough said that RIM's Blackberry and Windows Phone were top sellers despite RIM's many issues and Window's low market share.
With the release of iOS 5 and the iPhone 5 coming out this year, it should bump up the share of users from both AT&T and Verizon.

How can they all be top sellers? That kinda defeats the purpose of top sellers.

Are they comparing OSs or phones - eg - iPhones against all Android phones or the iPhone 4 Vs the Samsung Droid?

Moderator notice: The negativity and off-topic postings in news articles, particularly this one, stops now.
Pointing out grammatical errors, either as a postscript in your on-topic post, or via PM to the article's author, is acceptable. Blasting each other about it is not. I've merely cleaned this thread accordingly. Next time, the moderation staff may not be so kind.
This is everyone's only warning.

Was there any doubt that the iPhone would be the top dog?

Thanks Mr. Tucker i enjoy reading all of your articles even if there are spelling or grammar errors. I mean really who cares? Are you paying Josh Tucker to write these articles? And if it bothers you that much that there is a spelling error, maybe you could write a better article? I don't get why people always have to comment on spelling errors as if nobody has ever fat-fingered the keyboard before.
