Untethered iOS 5 Jailbreak On 3GS With sn0wbreeze Beta 2

iH8sn0w (@iH8sn0w) has released another update to sn0wbreeze 2.8 that allows iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) users to jailbreak untethered on iOS 5 Beta 1. Five days ago, iH8sn0w released an update for sn0wbreeze that allows jailbreaking capabilities for iOS 5 on Windows; the first client to do so since the release of the iOS 5 Beta 1. MuscleNerd and the iPhone-Dev Team were quick to post an updated redsn0w that also supported the Windows OS not even minutes after the sn0wbreeze release.
sn0wbreeze 2.8 is now in Beta 2 and is available directly from the following link:
sn0wbreeze Beta 2 is currently only available for the Windows OS. We'll see if MuscleNerd and the iPhone Dev-Team update redsn0w in concordance to what sn0wbreeze has brought to the table.
Follow iH8sn0w on Twitter for more information regarding sn0wbreeze and his other projects.

Seriously...we don't care about iOS5 until iOS5 is released. I'm simply not impressed.

And if we didn't have these advances in Sn0wbreeze et al - I would bet you'd be one of the first to whinge when it's released to GM about there being no Jailbreak for iOS5.
Talk about short sightedness...
Keep up the good work Devs for advancing the software and MMi for reporting this - ignore people like the poster in #2...

Why are the older devices the first to get worked on? The iPhone 4 is the most recent device, therefore it should be first to get the untethered update.
It's good to know that there is an untethered jailbreak, but the fact is, it's only a beta, so it's buggy as **** and very unstable. Hopefully all this means is that when iOS 5 is released as the GM or final release it won't take more than 24 hours to release an untethered jailbreak.
Did someone say baseband unlock? never going to happen lol16GB iPhone 4

A large majority of users still have the 3GS instead of the 4 (as it's the cheaper handset and still of adequate use) - plus it's one of the easier of the device range to jailbreak.
I'd wager that the Devs concentrate on the 3GS first to check that what they're coding is "going down the right path" - before tackling the much more complex architecture of the iPhone 4.
Logically it makes sense to take care of the older devices first

HELP! I bought an iPhone 4 knowing it was locked and that I couldn't use it whatsoever on my carrier! It's someone else's fault! Hurry up and code a patch to my dipshittedness for free, or I'll whine on teh forumz.
That's what I heard.
I seriously can't understand why people buy locked iPhones and then have the nerve to ***** about the mod community not developing unlocks for them, for free.
A. Buy an unlocked iPhone 4 from Apple.
B. Get a different phone.
C. Get on an iFriendly carrier.
D. Learn to code AND how to find exploits in the baseband. Then you could send messages to yourself, telling yourself to hurry up.iPhone 4 to Android directly back to iPhone 4. I learned my lesson and will never leave iOS again.

I don't understand why everyone always complains.. they don't release jailbreaks... people complain... they dont release an unlock people complain..
seriously... come on... if you want an unlock go buy a sim solution for an unlock and stop complaining.. they are out there.. and then you don't have to worry about custom ipsw...
wow just grow up and stop complaining and support the community with what they have provided ... nothing is promised... why is that so difficult to understand...
PS.. honestly i think the mods should start handing out bans to the people that come and complain about unlocks in every thread.. theres so many of these posts its just ridiculous!!Last edited by lighter; 06-18-2011 at 08:31 AM.
