iPhone Dock Makes For Perfect Game of I Spy or Father's Day Present

I can't help but feel there isn't enough creativity in the iDevice Dock market. Sure many of the docks look rather futuristic, and perform their advertised duties well, but very few take the aesthetic leap of faith into new and creative designs.

The above dock by iLive takes that leap of faith and lands rather gracefully. In lieu of a digital display with boring easy to read numbers, iLive opted to turn the screen of the iPhone into a beautifully integrated analog time piece.

Functions wise it has your typical array of dual alarms that wake you to music, the radio, or those horrid beeping sounds. There is a sleep and snooze function and even a remote. I'll probably pick one up for my slightly technologically inept father, who will appreciate the design elements that harken back to a simpler time of analog time pieces.

I saw this the other day on another Apple blog. After downloading the app, I'm not very impressed. The graphics have not been optimized for the retina display but there is a small, digital option in case those tiny hands are too small to read. While I like the idea, they'd need to tweak the app to make it worth the money to me.
