Totally agree!
The need for me to jailbreak is only there because the features jailbreaking brings I feel should either be standard or a way to tweak it like notifications/themes/SMS tones through either the app store or another apple program as these are basic features for phones that are $100.

So lemme get this straight, an iphone 4S is coming out this summer and an iphone 5 this fall?
So what happened to the iphone 4S? is that coming out this summer or no? "Also, a lack of heavy competition from competitors" is the author of this article smoking crack?

next iPhone will likely be released this Fall in time for the holiday season and will likely be either the 4S or 5 (4S seems more likely at this point). The next model after that probably won't happen until Fall 2012 if they plan to stay on a yearly cycle but at a new time of year than the old Summer time frame as with iPhone models in the past.

[QUOTE=This lack of pressure has allowed Apple the leeway to push out iOS 5 this fall[/QUOTE]
iOS 5 is confirmed for July.

If Apple knows what's good for them they would release it in time for the holiday season. By that time white iP4 sales will have likely dropped back a bit and everyone would be clamoring to get their hands on the new phone before Christmas, either for themselves or to give as gifts. Sales would be massive. Drop the price of the iP4 a bit with contract along with the new phone release, and sale would be even more massive.

iPhone 4 slower aft iOS 5 beta
Well I have installed the iOS 5 beta on my iPhone 4 and it has definitely affected performance. It slows down when accessing multiple functions, "stutters" when handling transitions, and sometimes even shows, for a fraction of a second, a screen which has since been closed. And I am not a heavy multi-tasked either, and make it a point to kill apps not required. Hopefully they will fix this in the final release.

that's why they have betas, so people can test functionality and report bugs before the RTM version goes live.
