    Default PwnageTool, redsn0w, & ultrasn0w Updated for 4.3.3 Untethered

I received a tweet in my Twitter inbox around 2:15 AM PST from @iphone_dev and @ultrasn0w saying that PwnageTool, redsn0w, and ultrasn0w are updated to support 4.3.3 untethered.

The original exploit, found by @i0nic, was not patched when Apple released 4.3.3. However, there were some kernel crashes and other related issues that kept these above programs from rendering an untethered jailbreak. The team has finally fixed it and now it's hit the mainstream. All iDevices are supported with the exception of the iPad 2. For downloading the respective software, refer to the Dev-Team Blog and the following download links:

    redsn0w for OSX
    redsn0w for Windows
    PwnageTool - Torrent

ultrasn0w can be found on Cydia. If you don't have the repository added (or accidentally deleted it), the repository is: repo666.ultrasn0w.com

redsn0w for Mac OSX can be confirmed as working for my device: iPhone 4 GSM 32 GB v4.3.3

***UPDATE*** sn0wbreeze has been updated to support 4.3.3 untethered along with 4.2.8 on Verizon as well.

I know this is a useless post, and the general response will be, "When it's ready, everyone will know about it..."
But, anyone know an update on the iPad 2 jailbreak efforts? My poor shiny device is begging for some necessities like SBSettings!

When I read this post, I was super excited that there is a jailbreak till I saw "exception of the iPad 2", I was disappointed. Sigh.

    Wait starts again. Sigh.

I see no point in even bothering to upgrade, its too much work to re-do all my cydia packages just for an extra .1 added to the firmware for what? Stop location tracking? I got untrackerd or what ever its called lol, no need to upgrade

If I have helped you then thank me.

I agree in some fashion, however, it hardly takes anytime, at least on my end. Not to mention it's always best in my mind to be updated as high as you can so you can keep on top of the game and be able have all capabilities available to you.

On the Dev-team's latest blog post "tic-tac-toe", they said they won't disclose any information about the iPad2 jailbreak. But they expect it to be a "userland" jailbreak, which shouldn't take TOO long because it doesn't need any bootrom dumps.

    Directly from their blog post:

iPad2 update: The iPad2 jailbreak remains under development. As you may know, the original exploit @comex developed in the first week of the iPad2 release was mysteriously fixed by Apple within days of its development. Partly because of this, don’t expect much public discussion of the iPad2 jailbreak until it’s actually finished and ready for release (and please avoid asking about it). In all liklihood, it will be a userland exploit like the first (unreleased) one, not dependent on bootrom dumps. The first one can’t be released even for those with the original 4.3 firmware due to legal (distribution) reasons.

Agreed, I'm on 4.3.1 right now, but I'm itching to update...

I'm downloading the 4.3.3 ipsw right now.

I'm thinking the same thing...not worth re-installing and re-customizing everything. I'll just hold off until the next firmware update.

That's possible, but it's never wrong to say "thank you." Better safe than sorry.

When when updating to 4.3.3 from 4.0 with an already jailbroken iPhone do I need to update from iTunes first or update with the ipsw? I was trying to do it with 4.3.2 the other night and was unsuccessful. I did all the steps of holding the power and home button but after completing everything it would reboot like it said but to the exact same thing I had.
