White iPhone? I'll Take Clear Thank You!

Apple's announcement of the white iPhone 4's release tomorrow may not be an earth-shattering revelation as much as it is a relief to some. However, ifixit has an interesting mod for the hardware-tinkering inclined: the clear iPhone 4 back.
Ifixit rates the mod as an easy install. I would beg to differ. Anytime I've had to take apart my mackbook, or iPhone, I end up losing one of the impossibly small screws (torx, proprietary, or philips head) into the endless abyss known as the floor. I suspect my cat has a stash of dropped pencils, screws and other small accoutrement hidden somewhere.
The mod itself will cost you $29.95 and your patience. It comes with the new clear rear panel, camera lens and flash diffuser, all for the GSM/ATT iPhone 4. A small price to pay if you ask me. There's just something about being able to see the guts of my phone that shouts "Yea, I'm dumb enough to risk breaking my $600 phone for a few looks."
Which I am.
A few ModMyi users have already installed variations of the mod, here and wolk72 did it on his lonesome.
*update*
This old hat, but for those of you with deep pockets and a penchent for panache ColorWare has some dizzying capabilities when it comes to altering your iPhone, or laptop, or headphones, or baby.

Seen a clear front as well, not much to look at.

I think that's awesome! I've modded every single phone I've had. I've changed the housing on my 3GS and by the looks of it the iPhone 4 is even easier!

Looks freaking SWEET!!! Only question that I have is, why is it only for AT&T? What is the big difference between the two? The only difference that I can physicaly see is the viberate switch...

I think it makes it look like a demo or mock up unit.

I heard that once you switch to a transparent back that your camera becomes useless when used with the flash. This is why the White iPhone 4 took so long because of this issue as well. I wonder if that is still the case with this particular back from iFixit?

160GB Black iPod Classic
Sold
16GB iPhone 3GS
60GB iPod Classic
80GB iPod Classic
Broke
120GB iPod Classic

I've had a yellow front and back on my phone for awhile now (the fronts actually back to black now) and can say that I haven't seen any difference with my photos at all

i'm surprised no one has mentioned sw-box.com/wholesale-Iphone-4-Back-Covers.html
that place has awesome back cover replacements! and for way cheaper than these. i have been rocking the brushed metal or the leather back for a month or so now. it is SOOO much nicer in the hand. if you want clear class they have those too.

Phillip, I learned long ago to keep a magnet on the desk when I take apart tiny electronics. It's not even a subtle magnet, either: it's giant and sticks to anything metal within 8 inches. But it's worth it.
