    A few pointers:

For CDMA Phones, the table is 'CdmaCellLocations' instead of 'CellLocations'.

Also, if you're using Google Fusion, if you select only the pertinent columns (Lat, Long, and potentially timestamp if you want to try to do some fancy time lapsing), you can get much faster imports. My Cell Location (5k rows) took about 30 seconds, and my Wifi Location about 5 minutes.

Also: Does anyone know the format the timestamp is in? It's clearly not seconds from epoch.

I deleted mine. It hasn't come back yet? But I did install the above mentioned app.

Could be a blessing as well? People who are lost in the woods or kidnapped have been found when their phone connects or tries to send data over a faint signal. Not everyones destiny, but you never know...

It really looks like it's doing triangulation (as stated earlier). The battery drain would be insane if it was constantly pinging GPS. (Also explains why the points are fairly scattered around frqeuent areas and not tight to one spot).

God I hope I didn't kill anything, but I deleted this file (11+mb!!!) using iPhone Tracker. I did make a copy first. Anybody else delete this?

On a somewhat related note, I searched for "Dave's iPhone" and it didn't show up. Instead at that address it came up as Mango's Tropical Cafe. Also Google doesn't appear to have a category called Douchebags.

Call me skeptical but I think this MAY be a photoshop...haha

    Another location blocker just appeared:

    Cydia.pushfix.info

I wouldn't worry about it since it comes back anyway. Plus untrackerd is a daemon that does what you just did over and over again so if there were a problem then someone wouldn't have made a cydia tweak for it.

    You'll be fine deleting it.

Here's the difference between the two Cydia apps:

    1. Location Blocker (via pushfix.info) sends all data to /dev/null
    2. untrackerd (via BigBoxx): periodically deletes location records within the database.

    Yes, MAC addresses are unique.

But, it is extremely hard to identify someone with a MAC Address. Someone would need to get a warrant from a judge to get the ISP to release your information.

So, you worry about nothing. Quit being a drama queen

    Thanks for the quick responses!

An FYI all, since I have never done a backup of my iPhone on this new HD- I copied the consolidated.db file into the proper backup folder location, but the iPhone Tracker app still can't "find it" to read. I am curious about the contents. The file is 11+mb!

I'm going to install untrackerd tomorrow. Cyberduck I presume?

PS- Might there be any way to "open" this consolidated.db file directly? I tried this on a copy of the file in TextEdit. No go.

You won't need Cyberduck to install untrackerd. Just make sure you have BigBoss's repo installed and search for it through Cydia.

Download SQLite Database Browser for mac or windows(whichever you have) which is free and allows you to open Database(.db) files and view the contents in a normal way.

Extremely easy. Maybe its not easy for you, but given the info stored in consolidated.db, it would take a half-experienced hacker about 10 minutes to get a name and physical address.

It's not something I want every Tom, ****, and Apple to be spreading around.

If you don't care, so be it. Most do.

Hate to break it to Apple but you can put any disclaimer you want it does not make it legal, whats next? Our images recorded if Facetime is used? Finger prints are recorded off the touchscreen? How creepy does Apple have to get?

Senator Al Franken sent Steve Jobs a terse letter today demanding answers. Nice going Senator Al!
