So I located that database file and opened it through SQLite browser in firefox. I have 13,830 recorded locations in my iP4 since it got it (almost a year now) I then took that data and saved it as a .CSV file then loaded it into google fusion tables and it shows all 13,830 locations on a single google map. It pretty much gives a general locations of where i've been, since my phone is always with me. The locations are by no means exact, since this information is based off cell triangulation not GPS.

You can check out mine here: Google Fusion Tables

Is it GPS based? From the spots on the map, it doesn't seem to be. I don't know much about these things, but it looks like the marks are locations of cell towers that the phone pinged off of?

I'm wondering if that file is what the Signal app was looking at as well for certain information. Kinda seems like it to me.

The wifi information in mine is right on top of my house so they know where I live if need be. I may see how to disable this safely if possible.

this is some scary ****, if they want to find you they can.

the consolidated.db is also stored in "/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreLocation.framework/Support/" I'm not sure what this one is as it has a load of locations for America.

I cleaned my DB and cache.plist and set the permissions to 0000 so nothing can write to them or read them, so helpfully that is that.

the later done nothing as soon as data or 3G is enabled its collected.

^Yes it does!! It contains MAC addresses of routers you've seen. My personal AT&T Uverse DSL Mac address is in the database. Very easy to get my personal info from there.

that's definitely something to think about, but not terribly concerning... good to know tho.

what I was referring to tho was no personal information from the phone itself is in the data. location? yes.

This is a similar story I read today about the Michigan police being able to search your phone via UFED by either USB plug or Bluetooth. They can download and save your emails, SMS, (even after being deleted), phone calls, contacts, pics, videos, and gps locations.

    I couldn't believe it!!!! STILL CAN'T!
It's absolute B.S! And it's a violation to our rights under the 4th amendment. Scary story. Check it out if you haven't already.

Well, my DSL MAC address is unique, just like a social security number. IMHO that's getting very personal!!

Its a smart phone. What do you expect? If any of you think Apple is the only company doing things like this then you live in a fantasy world. Sorry, I hate to be honest, but really come on. If it is that big of a deal then go buy a used razr and stop ******** and complaining about Apple and whatever other companies are doing this. While your at it delete you facebook, and whatever other social media medium that you use because if you really believe we all arent being tagged by big brother in some way, shape or fashion ( not making reference to Apple), once again I will say you live in a fantasy world.

As for people saying they hope a tool comes out in Cydia, open your Cydia, and search for it. I believe what you all are hoping for is called untrackerd by Bigboss. Now, flame away!
