Downgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 POSSIBLE NOW!

I can't seem to get this to work. I get an error message saying that the iphone cannot be restored when i choose the file 1.0.2. It extracts it and all but it won't install it! any help would be helpful!

I was having the same exact problems. I followed Engadget's video, and after I watched it I got my iPhone back to 1.0.2. You also need to run apptap. Watch the video, it helped me do it right.

A friend of mine updated to 1.1.1 with his software-unlocked iPhone. He came to me to me to see if I could 'un-brick' it.

I followed the steps posted in this thread, and after jailbreaking I inserted a non AT&T SIM and I was able to make calls. I didn't had to 're-unlock' it... I just turned it on and I was able to make calls (I'm in Mexico). The modem firmware checks with the one from 1.1.1 although I have installed 1.0.2

I'm not sure why this happened, I just restored through iTunes, it came back with an error, then I used InDependence to for the Jailbreak and that was it.

I'm very sure that I'm not getting charged for international calls, the phone recognizes the SIM card and the mexican carrier... anyone else had this luck?

i gave up for 2nite, during the installing of apptap, about half way threw i kept receiving the same error, "cannot send file".... thats HALF WAY threw not all the way threw so i know thats not the error im suppose to get, any ideas?

You need to delete your current password for iphone (If you have one) and in cyber duck for USER NAME: root PASSWORD: dottie
your iphones IP adress and port 22 then search. THEN YOUR DONE!!

Well, it looks like it is possible to downgrade the baseband after the restore to 1.0.2, thus giving the ability to re-unlock:

I cannot personally confirm this, but it looks legit.

i cant choose the iphone1,1_1-1 folder, it opens and give me all the different files help i cant get back to the triangle im just getting the itunes symbol and cord symbol HELP!

The phone's he tried it on were never unlocked initially. And he was only able to get it to work on one (I think) of the six or so phones he bought.

does this work with windows cause i tried a million times and it doesent work it doesnt give me option to choose which version i want it just starts restore

I wonder if another option would be to use the hardware part of the unlock method (By George Hotz) and then running bbupdater...

I think i am going to save up and buy a second iphone to experiment with. I want to contribute to this community.

Now my phone has the permanent (yellow triangle) display. I have try to restore back to 1.1.1 with no luck, i have try to downgraded to 1.0.2 with no luck either. What do i do know? Any body? Maybe there is someone around the Virginia in the Portsmouth area that might be able to help me, that would be great.

How are people getting the gsm features. I have att and my phone is jailbreaked and i can use all the other features. Is there another way to get the gsm features without downgrading the baseband system or turbo sim

After looking this all over... I still have a question. Some people are talking about how they cannot send/receive calls after downgrading. Who does that concern? I have a legit contract with AT&T and have never unlocked my phone. I've simply used jailbreak and added 3rd party apps in the past. If I were to downgrade, would my phone calls work? I don't want to downgrade if it is going to screw up my calls because my iPhone is my only phone.
