i almost did this, but im really sick of restoring and most of the time i do i get a message "cannot restore iphone" and dont get my contacts loaded..... ;/

I was able to restore back to the 1.0.2 image but now im on ATT and im getting Incorrect SIM This iPhone must be used with an approved SIM what do i need to do any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

well i did do that i downloaded the one from this site and used it but still says that incorrect sim too also i still have that 0000 imei when i check the about section but when i reboot with the sim out of it it goes back to normal

You are not doing the button combination in the correct order. Hold down both buttons for 10 seconds, then let go of the Sleep button (top button) until iTunes sees the iPhone. Then let go. It should be blank screen on the iPhone, then you can proceed.

Right. You have to do this with the SIM out if you have unlocked the iPhone previously.

So....im getting the same result i put the modded lockdownd file without the sim card in there i reboot the phone and then put the sim card in and i still get the sim not being recognized... :-(

Check the Wiki to learn how to do iPhone file transfer. That is not a discussion for this thread. It involves installing (using iBrickr or just Installer.app) the BSD Subsystems, and then OpenSSH, and then using WinSCP to drag and drop files to your iPhone. If you need more help with that, please post in the Windows modding forum.

Well....i have also always been with att but i have thouroughly followed the instructions everywhere and i just can't seem to get my wireless services working i can't make a phone call or anything :-(

ok SiLeNtKiLLa where r u getting your lockdown file? i only have the one that went with unlock files, i dont have the original file.
