got new problem. when installing a new repositories such as iSpazio. it gives me a warning saying:

Removing essentials. this operation involves the removal of one or more packages that are required for the continued operation of either Cydia or ios. if you continue, you may not be able to use cydia to repair any damage.

    cancel or force removel.

The thng is, I am trying to install, not remove.

OK, which iSpazio URL are you using? I'll try to reproduce this.

I get that message too. While updating to Cydia 1.1, there was an error. Something timed out - I believe it had something to do with Big Boss. Now I can't install anything from Cydia. I went to update Big Boss, but it gives me the error warning that I am going to be uninstalling Cydia itself. I'd like to unistall Cydia and reinstall it fresh, but not sure how to do that.

Anyone know how to reinstall Cydia without restoring and rejailbreaking?

    I went to sections/repositories/ISpazio.
When it opens up, it is 0-3.1.
Maybe it is an old version?

The BigBoss source (and sometimes ModMyI too) is just struggling a little bit under the load of so many people -- no need to reinstall Cydia, you can just wait a bit until the demand evens out.

I just got back in to Cydia and here is the error message I have showing...

"Failed to fetch http://apt.saurik.com/dists/ios/550....m/Packages.bz2 Hash Sum mismatch

Failed to fetch http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/...rm/Packages.gz Cached Failure

Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead"

I guess it's just a matter of waiting until there's not a million people updating Cydia at the same time?

Ah yeah, it's better to install from a URL - Cydia 1.1 has shifted away from package-installed sources.

Ok thanks. Is there somewhere I can go to find new repositories if they come out? I like to keep up with all the new tweaks and stuff.

Everythings cool. I just hate the fact that u can't have Cydia running in the background even if u give it the correct permissions and settings using Backgrounder Hope there's an update fix for this

Check out the "Multitasking" section of this post - it explains why Cydia can't do that right now but will probably be able to eventually.
