I would hope an MMi writer would verify this with at&t before posting.

Well obviously a number of people have been getting it. Seems pretty legit.

Yea and that confirmation text looks NOTHING like the free texts you get back from ATT when they send you info or updates -- sounds suspect

Sounds good, but im worried, like everyone else, that this us just another texting subscription spam scam. How can we know if it is or isnt?

Is it 1000 minutes as a one time thing, or 1000 minutes every month?

Not really. I use @600 minutes per month. I run one month of the 900 minute plan to bank rollover minutes then call to change to the 450 minute plan. I then run the 450 plan for 3 to 4 months until the rollover minutes are gone. Rinse. Repeat. Adding 1000 rollover minutes works great for me.

If you had the unlimited data in the past call up and they will add it back.. I verified this with a CS rep that i spoke with today when lowering my plan.

In yet another obvious effort to retain iPhone customers - those who now have more than one carrier option - AT&T is giving away 1000 free rollover minutes to some iPhone subscribers today (and through next month it seems). While it isn't yet known how many AT&T customers have already received a text from AT&T explaining the promotion, there's another way to see if you can claim your free minutes.

As instructed, yours truly texted the word 'yes' to 11113020. The result? I received my free 1000 minutes (see screenie above for proof). If you don't want to text AT&T to claim your chunk of minutes, there's a good chance you may still hear from AT&T today or in the coming days. If so, here's the message you can expect:

AT&T Free Msg: You’re a valued AT&T customer. We’d like to add 1000 bonus Rollover minutes to mobile number ending in xxxx. There’s NO cost or obligation to you. It’s our way of saying thank you. To have your minutes added, reply YES by 3/31/2011. Reply stop to end mktg msgs.

Yesterday, the Verizon iPhone debuted to the masses. Feeling the heat, AT&T is ramping up its promotional efforts. Before today's fee minutes bonanza, earlier this month AT&T offered a 25% discount on one accessory purchase and even a free MicroCell to select iPhone customers.

    AT&T
It would be better if the microcell was sold without the additional monthly charge. The bonus minutes? Don't care, I always manage to accrue sufficient rollovers anyway.

IronIcally being an AT&T IPhone owner, the verizon iPhone is the best thing that could happen, because now AT&T will finally start to fix their damn network, and other nice little things to their customer so they don't leave haha

Buy an iPhone 2g take your activated sim card and throw it in the 2g activate through itunes put it back in your current iphone. You will get a text message and an email stating that an appropriate data plan has been added. And your unlimited 2g EDGE data plan is converted to a grandfathered Unlimited 3G plan. I did this for my phone and my wifes. Worked like a charm. Here is a link just in case you want further direction.
