Yeah but it even got away from that topic at times.

lol this thread had trouble written all over from the start. Really...next time put some forethought into your news stories if you want to censor the conversation that it invokes.

I don't know what they were thinking when they wrote the WikiLeaks article either. I predicted that it would need to be closed, and it was.

No, they didn't ban it. They didn't embrace it. Seems they would though as it has good intentions.

Why do you have to criticize every single thing they do/don't do?

Watch the steps there Zok. This is the internet and that can bee taken the wrong way. Internet text == no way to tell emotion behind said text.

So do I have to add "(not mad)" to most my posts now?

I don't. I was raised German Catholic through and through. For them not to reach out and embrace this app seems folly to me is all.

That makes sense. I thought they did say something like "It would help more people to confess their sins" though.

I think I have to make myself a little clearer here:

In an earlier post I said that Catholicism is a joke. I stand by that. And this is why...

I do not believe you can be a true follower of god if you can simply walk in and confess to a priest for forgiveness and be absolved of your sins. Being one with god involves making things right in your heart knowing that there are consequences for straying...not banking on swinging by a church for your weekly washing. This app helps people to walk the walk. That is why it should be embraced. Don't be so quick to judge.

Sorry about that. But I don't really get where you're coming from. Catholicism never says that you can just be forgiven if you're not truly contrite. It just makes it even harder the way I see it. Otherwise those people that aren't sorry when they go to confession will just recite a prayer from a card on their fridge anyway. If you truly want to be forgiven you would be willing to take the extra step and confess. If you're still not truly sorry, of course you're not going to be forgiven. No one teaches that.

Confessing with true intentions, yes. Confessing as a backup plan, no. Unfortunatley with a lot of people it is the latter.
