For me, the convenience IS the functionality. I have no need to hotspot, but a great need to access and send texts quickly (I'm a teacher at somewhat rough school, and we teachers communicate amongst ourselves via texts all the time). For the price, biteSMS is a godsend. It's just a matter of what you use your phone for, and what makes the experience easier/better/simpler/more fun. I have iScheduler, which is also pricey, but it turns my wifi and bt on and off according to my schedule and saves me lots of battery power- which means my phone doesn't go dead 2/3's of the way through a school day. Sure, I could do it manually, even use SBSettings, but it's cost-effective and convenient to ME so it's a good price for a good app. You might not need that, so for you it's overpriced and makes no sense. It's not a matter of if biteSMS is a good app, or if the price is too much, it's who needs it and is willing to pay for it. A lot of people who have posted here seem to like it and consider the cost appropriate for what they get. It's not an arguable point. At least not an argument that will make a difference to any of us. Because, to us, the app is worth it. Simple as that. I wouldn't pay $5 for a hotspot app because I have no need and it would be too pricey for what I get. We could argue over how much Intelliborn costs, and how good it is, but to what point?

I personally Prefer this or iReal as my Main SMS App. $8.99 isn't to bad of a Price for the options that these give.

You could delete it and reinstall the one on Cydia that is on the BigBoss repo. If you already paid for it, that shouldn't make a difference.

I didn't say you shouldn't buy it. As for the Intelliborn comparison, that was brought up by the poster to whom I was responding. I wasn't arguing with anyone, just pointing out something I thought was fairly obvious. Have a good one.

I'm not worried about it because it is working good just wondering if there was a difference. Thought about it but like I said no biggie. Thanks

The best $9 I spent in Cydia. Always one of the first app I install after I jailbreak.

I never said I couldn't afford it..I have the full version on my phone. I'm asking why the ppl who can't afford it or simply want the free version are "cheapskates"? A lot of ppl are on a tight budget these days, so I'm sure some need to save any money they can...that doesn't make them cheapskates.

In the world of 99 cent apps, people start to count their pennies. Sigh. $8 is nothing compared to a game for any other console. $60 a game, ppl will buy and pay. $8 to remove ads, ppl get squeamish.

I think some people just don't find some app/tweaks necessary, so they dont spend the $ on them. Some may be more into games, so that's where they would rather spend it. What ever your into. Just my opinion.

Does anyone have a problem when using Bite that the text tones are default?
I uninstalled bite and the text tones play the contact tone that is assigned.

Are you saying that you assigned text tones in bite, deleted bite, and the tones still play as if bite was installed? Try a reboot?

I assigned text tones to different contacts. The new thing you can do in 4.2.1 they never play, just default does. I uninstalled Bite and now they play.

Never mind I found out how in Bite how to set it up.

When you select a ring tone it overrides the system sound so that's why your only getting that one tone. BUT...you should be able too switch teh different tones under the ring tone settings in BITE SMS4.2.1.
