How To: Jailbreak the Verizon iPhone 4 with greenpois0n RC5 beta 4

I posted earlier today about how I was able to jailbreak the Verizon iPhone 4 with an updated greenpois0n. Well, in no time at all, the update is now live and will jailbreak your brand new Verizon iPhone, and any other iDevice on firmware 4.2.1.

NOTE: The new version (RC5 Beta 4) is currently only available for Mac OS X available for both Windows and Mac OS X now!

• Step One: Head to greenpois0n.com and download the newest version
  
• Step Two: Attach your iPhone to your computer, close iTunes if it opens.
  
• Step Three: Open the greenpois0n app and follow the instructions for putting your device in DFU mode
  
• Step Four: greenpois0n will recognize the device in DFU, and run its code, allowing for an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone. The phone will reboot after finishing, however, it will now have an animated boot logo that starts with the apple logo and morphs into the greenpois0n logo.
  
• Step Five: On your springboard, you should find an app called 'Loader' which will download and install Cydia. Cydia might not appear directly after Loader finishes. A reboot worked for me.
  
• Step Six: Open Cydia, and install updates as needed! Enjoy your jailbroken Verizon iPhone 4!!

Let us know, if you have any problems, or if something doesn't work as indicated.

You may find that some Cydia apps may not run perfectly yet, since the Verizon iPhone uses a modified firmware compared to the GSM version. It is expected that the two versions will sync up when iOS 4.3 is released. But for now, enjoy the jailbreak!

Damn that was fast. It sucks for,US!, AT&T users though because we waited so long for it and Verizon got it just in time. I'm an AT&T user just to be clear.

Seem like everyone got the wrong idea. I have been with AT&T since the very first Iphone. I'm not a Verizon user.

Do you mind if I ask you a question? I'm getting my iPhone from Verizon tomorrow, and I was curious in knowing what Firmware did you get with your iPhone. Was it 4.2.1 or was it 4.2.5?

Two of them were on 4.2.6, one of them was on 4.2.5

I received my iPhone on Verizon today also, It was shipped to me with 4.2.5 and when I attempted to use greenpois0n it scrolled through the process and worked fine until I tried to use the loader app, upon using the loader app it just crashes. Any ideas?

Yeah what's the difference in RC5 b3 and b4? I just JB with b3 earlier today. I experience major lag when it comes to holding an icon to get them to wiggle, then hit the home button to unwiggle them. Wondering if this fixes that issue or not.

I downloaded the green posion jailbreak yesterday for my ipod 4th gen which is basically the same thing as the iphone besides the ram and the calling capabilities. But anyways everything worked fine util I tryed to download ********** and what not the whole system flipped out and slowed down everything wifi, mail, texts, facebook and what not is this a newer version because either way I have to revert.
