i got the white iphone 4 with verizon running 4.2.1 and ive tried jailbreaking off of jailbreakme.com and it says my device is not supported so i tried green poison and everything works fine until it reboots and it says i have to connect it to itunes so i connect it and it says i have to restore my phone anyone know why its not working or how to jailbreak it with this software on it

There is a tethered jailbreak with redsnow but I hear it is quite buggy. No you cannot downgrade unless you have SHSH for lower firmware.

do you have to have a Verizon account in order to jailbreak a Verizon iPhone ?

I purchased a Verizon iPhone (instead of AT&T) on ebay by mistake and now I was thinking to jailbreaking it before selling it back to ebay, but I do not have a Verizon phone numaber.
