Who believes that they ran out is a fool. This is nothing but a marketing ploy to make it feel exclusive and make one wanting to get it even more. One of the oldest tricks in the marketing book.

Actually yes, Most of it will sync over the air. The rest you can use double twist

You must not have been around for that long. Either that, or you CLEARLY missed the iPhone refresh table is 12 months. Once iPhone comes out, you are safe knowing you have the newest iPhone for the next 12 months. People buying iPhones aren't in it for the top of the line tech in the long run. Tecnology-wise, there are certainly phones out there that beat the iPhone 4 today.
They ran out of PR-ORDERS. They allocate a certain number of phones for pre-orders. Doesn't take a fool to believe that. ATT did the same thing. My local store ran out of preorders. Only a fraction of the people who actually bought a phone were those that preordered it there...Last edited by sziklassy; 02-04-2011 at 08:19 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

I disagree with you, just being on MMYI the last couple of years and reading "I can't wait till Iphone 3g or 3gs or 4 " and you would see there are a large number of "I need the latest greatest" out there.
If you are one of them and you are locking into Verizon today then its a mistake since no doubt when they get the new phone it will be discounted, otherwise you will spend hundreds more upgrading later, where's the savings then?

Huh? You already know they are not making a CDMA model?
Engadget is reporting that Iphone 5 is GSM and CDMA
LinkBut all of these moves are leading up to the iPhone 5 -- a completely redesigned handset -- which our sources say is on track for a summer launch. Right now, the device is being tested discreetly by senior staff at Apple (strictly on campus only). We don't have much info on the phone at this point, but our understanding is that the new device will be a total rethink from a design standpoint and will be running atop Apple's new A5 CPU (a Cortex A9-based, multi-core chip). This device, like the iPad 2, will feature a Qualcomm chipset that does triple duty as the CDMA / GSM / UMTS baseband processor -- from what we hear there's no LTE in the mix at this point.

- Not everyone cares about having the latest model just because it's the latest model
- Those that do already know how well apple products maintain resale value
But you know, if I was on Verizon I wouldn't wait to get the phone now. I had a 3G, and I skipped the minor upgrade 3GS. I've got a 4, and I don't expect to be too impressed with the 5. I mean, there's not much that I'd even upgrade with the current phone. Res is good, speed is good, memory is good, reception is good, what more do I need? NFC payments? *shrug*. Dual-mode? I don't really need it. If it comes out with 3D or something I guess that would be cool. But I'm really quite satisfied with the current model, and I cant even think up how they could improve it to make me need to get a new one. I understand some people have an unnatural need to have the latest Apple products, and that's ok. But if you're one of those people you probably haven't been sitting on Verizon for almost 4 years waiting to get an iPhone.Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. -- M.C. If it comes out with DUal processors you don't think that will matter as to function?
I have a core solo now and gotta tell you I wish everyday I had a core duo again, it was faster and apps responded better and faster.
Why wouldn't be the same for the a DUal Core phone?
There is a big performance difference between a 3g and 3gs as well.
When I compare mine to my wifes 3g she tells me how much she wants an upgrade.

I guess I don't look at it from the perspective of do I want my phone to be up to twice as fast, but from the perspective that my phone is fast enough. There is a bit of a difference between laptop and mobile device performance on dual core processors too; desktop OS have more things going on at once.
I'm not saying there won't be a performance difference, just that I don't think it will be dramatic enough to make me want to upgrade my phone. It certainly wouldn't stop me from getting a Verizon iPhone now if I wanted one.Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. -- M.C. Escher

Now wait a minute......... how do you know this?
Until you see a Dual core Iphone compared to a single core and use the darn thing how would you know there is not a big difference? I thought there was not a big difference between 3g and 3gs boy was I wrong!!!!
Honestly I expect this to be a big leap forward!

So how many is that exactly ?I don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.

I'm actually surprised at the people who assumed it would be ANY different...media is going crazy with the story as if the media blitz that happened last year upon release of the iP4 was going to prevent this kind of turn out from people who wanted it on Verizon.
