I just bought a brand-new iPad with 4.2.1. It's never been jailbroken before, therefore I have no blobs of any kind cached.

This means I can't JB my new iPad, right?

What we're waiting for here is the newest Greenpois0n or redsn0w or whatever which will allow us to jailbreak an iPad like mine, untethered, without ever having jailbroken that device before.

One thing I never understood about this whole jailbreak thing is.... Why doesn't Jay Freeman just pay the dev team or another team or he himself do what ever it takes to get his store onto our phones. I mean think about how many people have brand new phones with 4.2.1 they got for x-mas or recently that they cant jailbreak. It just seems to me that if you have a business(Cydia store) you would try to get it to everyone possible.

I must agree. Many want to sound smart saying we should wait for next firmware but the pattern is still the same. I'd prefer to have it ASAP than wait and once you have yours jbroken you'll be better off. Once you got that taken care of, they'll work on next firmware JB but atleast your phone is already done. We appreciate what they do but we get very anxious waiting.

It seems so on paper but the carrier will rather charge you the premium for let's say, kick you out but they won't confiscate your phone as far as I know, so it's kinda yours.
