Apple Store Down: Maintenance or The Arrival of the White iPhone 4?

Just a little while ago, the Apple Store went down for updates. Rumor has it that this update will include new products. Which one's you say? Well, @xavierverhoeven, editor at MacWorld seems to think it's the White iPhone 4. "Looks like the white iPhone is finally coming... Today! MC604X/A (16GB) and MC606X/A (32GB). Thanks Mr X." he tweets.

Now, this is interesting because we just caught wind that although Apple has not officially stated the reasons for the delay on the White iPhone 4, it is understood that there were problems with the paint being used. Recently news was that a small Japanese company actually developed a new process for controlling how the paint is applied, finally yielding acceptable units being produced.

So if this is true, it could mean that indeed, the White iPhone is finally here, however, any avid Apple fan knows that late night store maintenance is usually just that. User Macman1993 believe's "it's more likely that they are removing all the references to the Xserve from the store."

Hmm be crazy if this is true. Maybe just running a test so there website doesnt crash like it did on the att launch

I keep checking often to see if the site is back up. Gonna make me sort of mad. Waited all this time for the white iPhone then finally get the black one 2 weeks ago.

I seen this as well, but those are updates that aren't related to the store, i would assume, no? If its just the bar that's changed, then it wouldnt be too hard to incorporate for the store section i would imagine.

Who knows.... we'll find out shortly.

I Highly doubt it's coming out this early; it wouldn't be wise. Most likely apple is waiting until the iPhone 5 comes out then make it available in white .

It could be the white iPhone 4, or it could the more likely reason....Tupac is announcing that he is not dead, he has been in hiding for all these years and he's back promoting the white iPhone 4. Either we get the white iPhone 4 in the spring is 2912.

meh.. even if the white iPhone 4 arrives, it won't be much longer before the
iPhone 5 is in production. hopefully his time they'll have both colors
available at launch

The app "Apple Store" is down also, so I doubt it has to do with UI updates.

Anyone ever think that the iPhone 5 isn't coming out THIS year....they're going to release the white iPhone 4 instead??

Makes the most sense to me. Especially since Verizon is getting the iPhone in Feb and usually the new iPhone comes out in June....just food for thought...

could be possible but i think they would have publicized it more to get people to wait for it and buy the white iphone over something else
