I have no problem with the physical product itself. It's a great device, as for the software and the rules that constrain it? Ehh not so much. And I'm just voicing my opinion which I'm entitled to as much as you and if you don't like it, you can kindly gtfo

Will this update help my Apple Component cables not give me the message "This accessory is not compatible" message.

If you had purchased the apple brand and not a knockoff you wouldnt have that issue. There is a chip inside the apple cables that make it work correctly.

M$ does not force me to pay a fee to be a Developer for them. ( I'll be beta testing Win 8 next, I've Beta Windows XP, Vista and Win7) I was also signed up as a Developer for IOS 3.0 but not afterward no time for this now.
