I'm also wanting the free gps app like android has. Even though I have Navigon, and it's GREAT! I would much rather have it be standard than have to pay for it.

And I believe that you have to do a full 'restore from backup' to get them back. Thereby possibly restoring something that may cause problems with a fresh restore. It's stupid there's no separate mechanism to restore game saves/settings/passwords/texts separately like a Time Machine restore does.

Those features seem like it should be a good upgrade. I can't wait for the multigestures
You don't like the iPad because you don't have one!

I hope they fix the USB power for the dongle on the iPad as iOS4.2.1 is incompatible with a lot of USB devices.

@KartRacer & cer0 if your jailbroken, try using chronus(cydia) to save game data/restore it via ssh after you either restore or upgrade iOS firmware.

True... but you lose saved game data if you delete a game before a restore and then do not back up saved data. The whole process is clunky, time consuming, and easily messed up. A simple iTunes tab that keeps track of saved game data would be simple and easy it would also be nice to have some sort of function that handles this in game center - Chronus does an excellent job, but an official version is usually better.

Personally, I don't get it, especially with the iPod touch and iPhone being marketed as a gaming platform by Apple now. And with the mechanics of the App Store - updates constantly being released for games that include new content and fixes - I don't see why Apple has not implemented a save game manager.
For example - Puzzle Quest 1 was not a complete game. I beat it and got tired of waiting for the rest of the game to be released - So I deleted it. Once the update as released I had no way to restore my saved game and was unwilling to beat the game up to the updated point just to play the new content.
The same goes for other stuff like Resident Evil 4.... and... other games... tons.... I just can't name any right now.
Chronus works exactly like I think backing up stuff should, but Apple needs to step in and do things the right way.
