Well the people that bought 8GB iPods last year are pretty screwed in iOS 4. But then again the 4th gen iPods have the same exact chip as the iPad.

All signs now point to iOS 4.2.1 being the final release for Apple’s second-gen iOS devices.

Apple reportedly plans to publicly release iOS 4.3 in early March.

So much for the iPod 2G that I have thats not even a YEAR AND A HALF OLD

thanks apple, for SCREWING YOUR LOYAL COSTUMERS OVER

The only main thing they need to actually jailbreak the device is the bundles for the new version of iOS.

Pirate what, the app? It's a free app that I noticed the change on.

Or do you mean pirate the beta? No, I have a dev account I toy around with.

Pwnage tool should be the first to offer a tethered jailbreak of 4.3b1. Granted you will have to use bundles not from the dev-team.

Yes. I thought he meant you could literally update your device and it would still be jailbroken because he didn't think the iP4 pwn'd for life jailbreak was released yet.

The only thing that would make me update would be syncing over wifi.
Wifi Sync in Cydia seems to be very temperamental for me.

nice, by the time i get a 3gs or a 4 they'll probably be phased out too... dunno why i bought the 3g its not like i can actually use the 3g data on tmobile, and ios4 sucks on it so i might go back to my 2g, that thing is built like a tank.

Also, it now allows you to play the sound for a new text message at 2 minute intervals for up to 10 times in a row.

They're probably saving them up for iOS 5. Each whole number update is the one with the big features and all the following ones just have smaller features and bug fixes so just wait for iOS 5 because I'm sure it'll be what your looking for. (and I am too lol)

All iDevices are currently jailbroken for life but as for the newer devices (A4 devices) the jailbreak won't always be untethered like the current 4.2 jailbreak which is tethered unless you have shsh blobs for 4.2b3. But with comex or chronic dev team's new untether hack we may have a 4.3 untethered jailbreak if they are ready by then.
