Hi Again, I found this on Itunes. went to see Preferences and disable automatic update. Hopefully this will stop updating new software updates and somehow install new update.

Completely agree.
I'm running 7.4.1.2
No updates for me!

Just make sure you have the firmware .ipsw somewhere on your hard-drive.

You can download the 1.0.2 firmware at:

If I upgrade my firmware from 1.0 to 1.0.2, then will my phone get locked again? and how do i unlock it if it gets locked again?

Found this on Engadget:

Update: We've heard that iTunes 7.3.1.3 can restore a bricked phone with the 1.1.1 update. No confirmation yet, but feel free to let us know if it works for you in comments.

I've been reading threads since yesterday, about having a unlocked phone for other network providers. People should be patient, did all you guys think apple was going to update their firmware in our favor ! They have a contract with att, cingu, bellsouth super conglaumorate. I have been doing this since the beginning and if i make a new door stopper , so be it because you wait next year alot of company will be modeling their phones like the iphone. But for now working on this ****.

Hi All,

I have a few people whom I am unlocking iPhones for. Unfortunately, they do not have iTunes 7.4.1 on the Mac. Does anyone know how I can get iTunes 7.4.1 for the Mac on their machine?

Thank you in advance.

Is anyone running 7.4.3 with 1.0.2? And if so, how is it? Any harm in doing this? I have to set up a new PC for someone with an iPhone, but i don't want to put 7.4.3 on if it's not going to play nice with the old firmware... and does anyone have a link for 7.4.1?

Sorry for the 100 questions..

Currently running 7.4.2 - no probs. 1.1.1 is available...I don't think I'm unlocked...how can i know this (Still using orig. sim card...no hiccups yet with HackT&T) Where can I view if unlocked or not - all I have is installer, All the new "themes" and sounds, some games, etc.

Please assist!

7.4.2 is fine to use - no worries. I use it currently but don't install new iphone update yet

me too. no update for mac yet

I have 7.4.2 on a Mac and 1.02 firmware on iPhone (unlocked) and it WORKS FINE. You can update iTunes to 7.4.2 (which is currently the latest for Macs) and still be able to unlock it.

You don't need to disable Internet. It will ask you first to upgrade if any updates are available. IT WILL NOT UPDATE YOUR iPHONE without getting first a confirmation from you.

Also in the iTunes Preferences => General you can uncheck the option "Check for updates automatically"
