I still think it's funny. People are paying for a phone and plan but would never pay for a jailbreak or unlock. Any time someone says they'd pay, everybody flames them and says a jailbreak and unlock should be always free.
Eventually these devs get tired of all the crap and quit or give up. Look at the names from the early 1.1.1 jailbreak days. same people? nope. new fresh faces always waiting to burn out in a year or two.
Why don't these guys just sell the exploits to someone who will make it their job to develop in a reasonable timeframe? and charge $5-10 for the product after all their hard earned effort? I mean how many people pay $10-20 for MyWi and dumb $1 apps.
A few of these fine folks should break free from this nonsense and take this seriously. Business is not a bad thing. This part-time free work crap is silly. I bought unlocked just so I didn't have to deal with this.

People just don't seem to have any patience or can't be greatful. The hackers don't owe us (users) anything. If it wasn't because of the hackers, we wouldn't have our iphones unlocked in the first place. It will come out when it comes out, until then have some patience or get an Android or learn to hack yourselves.

I might be going to Belgium middle of next year and I'd love to have an unlocked iPhone while I'm there. Even if it is for only a few days. I'd bet iOS 5 will be out by then though. Any opinions on whether it would be worth it to buy and unlocked iPhone 5 or whatever it's going to be called while I'm there? I want to get my parents one but they don't want a data plan or signing a contract with AT&T. Would it even work here?HK-Z™ on Game Center

I'm skipping the iPhone 4, cos I have a 32GB 3GS, but when the iPhone 5 comes out next summer I'm just gonna pay the premium and get a factory unlocked one. Or just get my network to unlock it for free after a year.
Still good news that the dev teams are still hard at work.
