Any App I have wanted I have been able to get on the net, either as a free App or I pay on the developers website.
If I look in my Applications folder, the only Apps that I have had to pay for is iWork. Everything else I have is a legitimately free app. (apart from the few games I bought via Steam on my Windows partition)

I think this will be very cool. However, I see this as bad for 2 reasons:
1. Noobs and windows fanboys are going to think and verbalize that the mac is locked down trash.
2. Apple, even though they know they would be screwed if they did this, might get an impulse to get "locky" with the mac.
This will be fun though........

Hmmm... what's the point for this?
Themes, or tweaks?My Devices:
iPod Touch 4g 4.1 - Jailbroken
iPad 4.2.1 - Jailbroken

On a side note, I'd prefer Freeman fix the buggy horizontal nonscrolling screenshots for each app, add comments, add a section for HD themes, and find a way to filter out the dozens of craptastic "themes" (that are simply a background and 6 stolen icons from the internet) that flow into Cydia every day first.

So will this be like an official Cyder or is it like the iTunes app store where you will be able to search for cydia tweaks, download them, and connect you iphone to sync them to the device like itunes apps do? Cuz that would be awesome!!!

Cydia for the Mac isn't about jailbreaking, or making the device open source, because it already is. Cydia came to iOS because it was a closed platform with Apple and only Apple deciding what can and cannot be included on it.
Cydia for Mac wont be like this. I think it is just a place where Devs can publish their works in an effort to get them more noticed. Think about it. If you develop applications like CyberDuck for Mac, where is it going to get more attention? Your personal website, where people have to be searching for one specific thing in order to find it, or in an application that unifies all things Mac, where a user just browsing the Applications section can easily stumble across your work.
It is also good for the end user. Instead of endless searches, tying to find the right program for your needs everything is already organized and described for you. No more downloading an application thought to be free but once you open it you find out it's only a trial. We've all had these frustrations, and Cydia for Mac is looking to fix those.
It also challenge to the Apple Mac store. After all, we can't make things too easy for Apple, now can we?

It's been said that 10% of iphone users jailbreak so they know about Cydia.
But how many if that 10% also own a mac?
It seems to me that Cydia for mac is only going to see a very small amount of people that own macs

i cant wait for themes

If it works on a Mac as it does on an iPhone, it won't ever touch my Mac.
Besides, I can't see what Cydia can do for my Mac..iPhone 4 to Android directly back to iPhone 4. I learned my lesson and will never leave iOS again.

I am not sure I see the point of this.
What restrictions are being put in place by Apple in regards to what types of apps can and cannot be made available in the Mac AppStore?

Yes! Exactly what I asked for. I swear I sent saurik a message on twitter about this a month ago. He never responds to any of my twitter posts except when he said the new cydia update was gonna be compatible with 2.x and I said aww... No 1.x support
