With a Gs @4.1, 5.14.02 BB, I've tried with the latest redsn0w, but during the process, I stuck with recovery mode. Any idea how to get out this situation?

DIDITHU, you may not be going into DFU mode correctly.

For anybody that's already jailbroken w/ 4.2.1 with b4, I just re-broke with b5 with no problems. Of course you have to reinstall everything (or restore Pkgbackup) to get all the current software back in-sync with Cydia's packages but it all seems to work just fine.
Yes. It does apprea that you get the new Cydia when you do this (that's why I did it to begin with).
YOYO and YMMV applies, of course.

Can anyone confirm this working on 32gb 3gs with new boot rom.
I get unexpected error occurred immediately after the exploit begins.
Thanks

I had alot of trouble jailbreaking in win 7, got it working and after getting annoyed by having to boot from redsnow for jb apps and Cydia I restored... Now my phone is all basic.. Just gonna wait for untethered.

Cydia is a lot better but don't expect a drastic change ! Some people are calling it "new" Cydia When it's just a tweaked version to work on 4.2 with a few touches here and there
I jailbroke my sisters iPhone 3G with it and it's not different to me at all except faster " unless I got the old version still ?

If you're comfortable with installing .deb files manually (I believe you can do it easily using iFile) you can get the latest version of Cydia direct from the repository: http://apt.saurik.com/cydia/debs/cyd...honeos-arm.deb
There's not really that much difference to be honest. The initial loading screen (where it says "Loading..." with a little spinner) is now on the regular grey-blue background rather than a black one. And loading changes was definitely faster. Other than that, no new features as far as I could tell.
edit: beaten to it I guess

Or you can just use the latest redsn0w to install it.

There's no way I'm doing a tethered jailbreak, but I'm excited for the Cydia changes. I'll be F5ing the MMI news forum until the article pops up!

Confused......
Iphone 3g:
Current:
Tmobile
FW 4.0.1
Baseband 05.13.14
I want to upgrade... to 4.2.
Do I have to update via iTunes to 4.2 first? Then use redsn0w? And if I do use redsn0w do I have to select the iPad ipsw or iphone 3g ipsw? (do they have to be in the same folder?)
Thanks for your help!!!!
