I am courious dose mms work when you upgrade to 4.2.1 and update your baseband to 6.15.

I had gotten mms to work on 3 different iPhones on older basebands with the same exact settings, how ever when I upraded my sisters 3G baseband and I put all the mms settings she was able to send a picture to me but she couldn't receive it it gave her a message about the mms being too large or a higher resolution but on my other 2 sisters 3G and 3GS they received them ... So I guess it partially works.

Im still waiting for the most stable jb and unlocks..updating BB too risky for me..im stil on 3.1.3 3Gs new bootrom..my best bet is to see how others are doing with these jb n unlock so far..

I too was content/scared to upgrade to 3.1.3 with my new bootrom 3GS but I finally gave in & just used custom 4.1 fW. Still have my 5.12.01 BB and now almost all apps are compatible.

I have a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone 3g running 3.1.3 with baseband 05.12.01.
I would like to upgrade to 4.2/4.2.1 and keep my jailbreak, unlock and baseband. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Can be done as per dev team site but IMHO, for now, I would just go to 4.1 with custom FW. This way you save your 5.12.01 BB and nearly all apps are 4.1 compatible. It takes 10 minutes and rumors are suggesting more fw updates are soon to come anyway.

I dont believe so, you would have to be on 4.1 or 4.2.1. Nothing to stop you from going back to 3.1.3 after though.

Stop the process and try again. The downloading of the ipad baseband may have stalled.

Try to unplug the USB cable from the phone and plug it right back in.

Let me ask you...is it possible to "upgrade my BB without needing to upgrade firmware"?

use NEW redsn0w (currently running 4.1 FW) > browse for 4.1 FW > install ipad baseband?

Or I definetly will need to update to 4.2.1?

Nice! I'm still debating wether I want to lose the unthetered jailbreak or just installing the baseband won't change nothing else? cause as of right now I'm jailbreaked thru limera1n

3gs old bootroom jb with limerain on 4.1. Used the new redsnow to update BB only to unlock. BB was successfully updated to 06.15.00. Installed ultrasnow and no service.


I would recommend waiting for a few days to get the kinks out.

I found a way to solve the "Waiting for reboot." They are 2 ways to solve it, u can unplugged it while it's on "Waiting for reboot." Another way is instead of holding 15 seconds on home, hold it for 30 seconds.
