Flash video comes to the iPhone via Skyfire

You heard it correctly. After two months in the approval process Apple has finally pushed through Skyfire 2.0. This is a Safari overlay that adds in a ton of extra functionality including the ability to transcode Flash video on a remote server and stream it back to your iPhone in HTML5. The demo video above shows a lot of clever Facebook integration and expanded searches. Not ALL of the internet's Flash video will be available such as Hulu which is already actively blocking Skyfire.
The app is scheduled to be released by Friday and will cost $2.99 from the App Store.

I have never succesfully got frash to work. Lookin forward to this just a little. Not have flash doesn't affect ninety five percent of my iPhone browsing but I would be lying if I said I didn't hate the little blue Lego of death

no the "normal" content will load normally, only the flash portion will be converted and sent back.
and there really is NO benefit for this...it is a battery killer, and most NEW sites are going to html5..
cool but not worth the 3$ to display adds on 90% of sites...ha

There is already a "SkyF1re" (yes that's a one instead of an i) available for free on Cydia but it doesn't work very well and uses frash instead of server-side conversion. The one on Cydia is by "Kaikz". It looks like someone stole the Skyfire name an attached it to a vastly inferior product.
They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

I'll never understand Hulu's business strategy.
"You can have all this stuff for free with ads on your desktop or laptop computer! But to use it on anything else you have to pay. And there's still ads. And we will make an active, aggressive effort to prevent you from working around it any way we possibly can by blocking any server that may be acting as a proxy.
But it's still free on your computer!"
