Snow Leopard doesn't really need an update except the button to make the app run full screen like Windows.

Ummm the App Store on iDevices operates on your definition of a monopoly? The App Store is the only intended means to get new software on your iDevice. (if you disregard Cydia) If it's so illegal how have Apple been doing this for the last 3/4 years.

Jobs whole goal in life has been to lock down the platform. In the early days that was the downfall of the Mac. On the iPhone it worked due to the fact that the phone isn't a replacement for the computer.

Guess what neither is an iPad.

The day of the locked mac is coming and it will be the day the mac returns to the days of it's slide into obscurity, again.

Are you referring to Right Zoom? This does full screen when you click the green button.

I can't agree with your last sentence. The iPhone is locked but it has not lost its popularity and I feel it would be the same way with the Mac. Just because they locked it doesn't mean I would run to windows that is for sure. I am sure I would not be to happy but I would still keep my Apple products and I am sure many others feel the same way as I do.

I'n getting a bit annoyed with a lot of these posts now.

1) The App Store will not be the only way to run apps

2) It will be in a VERY long time if it ever is

3) OS X 10.7 looks AWESOME.

4) If you don't think it is, then at least spend the time to watch parts, if not all of the keynote on apple.com.
