Thread: Greenpois0n Available for Linux too!

Default Greenpois0n Available for Linux too!

Not sure how this slipped by us, but it only seems appropriate after covering the Mac release of limera1n; Greenpois0n was updated 2 days ago to include a version available for Linux. While the Mac version is yet to be available, you can use Limera1n in the meantime, which has recently been released for Mac OS X.

The chronic dev team has said that the Mac version is almost near completion, as they work out a few small issues. Once that comes out, Greepois0n will be compatible on a total of 3 operating systems. It is unknown if GeoHot has plans for a Linux Limera1n.

Eddietah, who noted this yesterday, has gone into further detail about the release stages of Greenpois0n here, it's a good read if your new to this: Greenpois0n Release Notes & RC Beta Releases

    greenpois0n - Mmmm...pois0n

Yeah, Linux is a darn good operating system for everything but gaming.

What the hell is the reason of having limera1n and greenpois0n they both do the same thing and there is no benefit to using one over the other.. If linera1n works first why bother with greenpois0n??

Are you kidding?! People use Linux for everything except for gaming purposes (there are Linux games although).

Linux users are going to be happy.

Perhaps we've slagged on this guy enough, but that really was a dumbass question. You might be interested to know that Linux and OSX are very similar, both being based on a UNIX kernel. All that command line stuff? Folders with names like 'var', 'etc', 'bin'? Even the packaging formats that cydia uses are from the open-source world.

I get so tired of OS wars. I use them all, because "it ain't what ya got, it's what ya do with it."

Linux-based OS's are the most flexible, most secure, and best-supported out there. Yes, all except for games-- but games are for kids. To me, playing games on a computer is like buying a Ferrari because, parked just so, it provides a little shade from the sun.

Linux is actually a good, stable OS. I used it for a while before my hackintosh.

I agree, the guy has had enough, he has been corrected. We can assume has not had much experience with linux, and he probably does not realise it comes as standard on some of the cheap pcs these days.
I had a question though, is there a way to get the linux version to run on osx. As osx now has a unix core, surly there is an easy way to do this. Or do you require the source code to do this?
