Dev Team Update - Unlock, Apple TV, Pwnage

MuscleNerd shot out a few Tweets this morning letting folks know the status on various aspects of jailbreakland. I'll rehash the points:
- There is an unlock on the horizon for both new jailbreakers and old, possibly not released until 4.2 though.
- A new Pwnage Tool should be out by "Funday/Sunday" with support for the Apple TV 2G (the recent release), although most apps won't work yet.
Developers will have to begin working on creating new apps/tweaks for Apple TV, and updating their current apps to support Apple TV if it makes sense per package. The Apple TV jailbreak situation is a new frontier here - it's not a touch screen device, so the entire JB experience may have to be starting fresh at least from a UI standpoint. Exciting.

Sigh..... I was really hoping to get this upgrade started already. I'm not going to upgrade until pwnage tool comes out. Oh well, I'll just keep waiting.

It's great to see there's already another unlock hole on the horizon. Shame though that it will be spent on this generation rather than the next

Is there anything worth a crap to go from 4.0 to 4.1? I for one don't think so. Besides the fact that 4.0.1 actually made me get no service in areas where I previously got service on 4.0. So 4.1 will have the same service issuse i had in 4.0.1 Thank god for shsh backups!!

@x2dope If you don't want to fix your proxmity sensor, HDR photos or Game Center then no, I guess there is no reason to goto 4.1??????
@jabij1 Yes, but sounds like you'll have to wait til firmware 4.2. That shouldn't be too long. I'd say before 2011?I thought my carrier was bad til I got a new web host

Son of a b****, this still does not jailbreak the iPad 4.2 betas. F*** it.

@trigun989 the idea of the jailbreak if for apps and modifying your product, unlocking is just an extra. Without a jailbreak they wouldn't be able to develop a unlock. However in the UK you can pay £15 to get it unlocked by an official carrier.

I have no idea. It's just a guess. But we're almost half way through October so 2011 is only 2 1/2 months away. Also, once 4.2 is out you gotta think it will be at least a week or two before jailbreak and unlock released. Although since they are sitting on SHatter hole I bet it won't be much longer than that

@NessLookAlike Ahh, why you need to unlock your iPad?? You mean jailbreak?I thought my carrier was bad til I got a new web host
