Jailbreak comes before the unlock. If there's no jailbreak then there's no unlock. That plus not everyone needs an unlock.

Is there anything worth a crap to go from 4.0 to 4.1? I for one don't think so. Besides the fact that 4.0.1 actually made me get no service in areas where I previously got service on 4.0. So 4.1 will have the same service issuse i had in 4.0.1 Thank god for shsh backups!!

iPads already come unlocked. If you meant jailbreak then you're out of luck. Jailbreaks are NEVER officially released to work on BETA firmwares b/c it gives Apple the chance to patch the jailbreak before the final release.

I misspoke, meant to say "jailbreak", I'm well aware all iPads are already unlocked. I do want to say that I believe I remember jailbreaking some iPod Touch beta firmware back in the 2.x days perhaps, so .

But please understand my frustration with waiting for 4.x firmware for so long.

I think it's all psychological. They didn't change the phones ability to get signal. They changed how the software reports it.

I have an iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) from Rogers in Canada. I was using it in Kenya on iOS 4.0 jailbroken and unlocked on a Kenyan sim. My friend accidentally updated it but I stopped the update in time and therefore had to "restore" due to interrupting the update. I used my stored SHSH from Cydia to restore it to iOS 4 and then tried to use Greenp0ison to jailbreak it but it failed 4 times. Then I tried Limera1n and it says on the software that it is jailbroken however I am stuck at the "Emergency calls only" section (I am assuming that it needs to be hactivated too?). I do not have access to a Rogers SIM in Kenya and nor do I have access to what they call "Universal" sims. Would someone please help me out? I am sure there are answers to this posted somewhere but my internet connection is too slow for me to efficiently search for it! I hope someone will guide me to get back at iOS 4.0 or even 4.0.1.
As long as I can bypass that "Emergency calls only" screen, I will access WIFI and then unlock it from Cydia using Ultrasn0w.
